Role Overview
In this position the Network Security Advisor tracks and owns project based assignments and provides guidance and mentorship to his/her peers in the management and monitoring of any security device within SecureWorks’ Managed Security Services.  This individual must demonstrate exceptional attention to detail as well as excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.  It is a requirement to be able to quickly and efficiently coach individuals enabling them to resolve client issues while maintaining high levels of satisfaction.  In addition to providing support to external clients as required, it is imperative that support for internal colleagues is provided as well to include, but not be limited to, supporting escalated ticket based work, providing training on various security devices, and creating device support and troubleshooting documentation.
Role Responsibilities
-Responsible for monitoring inbound and outbound calls from/to technical clients mentoring Security Operations personnel on how to best handle an interaction with a client
-Performing ticket audits on a regular basis targeting appropriate format, content, etc... ensuring that the client experience is as consistent as possible
-Ability to work in fast paced, multi-tasking operations environment
-Define and document security operational procedures as required based on findings gathered during phone call monitoring and ticket auditing processes
-Work within a 7x24 shift-scheduled security operations environment -Oversees the work of North America consulting teams directly and through North America managers
-Coordinate and deliver internal training to any SecureWorks MSS personnel that requires it
-Take ownership of complex issues and work to resolution
-Manage, participate in, or directly work on any additional projects, assignments, or initiatives assigned by management

As a managed security provider, Dell SecureWorks expects its employees to understand and apply commonly known security practices and possess a working knowledge of applicable industry controls such as NIST 800-53. Employees will be expected to acknowledge their security responsibilities in writing prior to gaining access to company systems. Employees will be required to maintain a working knowledge of local security policies and execute general controls as assigned.

-8-10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience:  undergraduate degree and 4-6 years of relevant experience,  graduate degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience
-3+ years experience with Firewall technology such as CheckPoint, Cisco, Juniper, or Imperva -Excellent business management with proven ability to effectively direct the organization’s strategic and tactical practice and operations to maximize revenues, profits, and customer satisfaction
-SANS/GIAC Certifications (GCFW, GCIA, and GCIH) a significant plus
-Proven ability to execute human resource functions and staffing capability across wide geographic and concurrent custom project range.
-Must possess current certifications for enterprise level security platforms such as CCSA, CCSE, CCSP, JNCIA, JNCIE, GCFW
-Intermediate to advanced level of Linux experience including system administration and CLI
-Generally familiar with basic scripting/programming: Examples such as: PERL, BASH, MySQL
-Proven ability to independently support and manage client Firewalls, Intrusion Detection security devices , and other security related platforms
-Dedication to client service and passion for learning and security
-Intermediate level of networking expertise and understanding of advanced routing principles, networking fundamentals, and well known protocols/services including GRE, BGP, and OSPF, ARP/NAT, and command line interfaces
-Attention to detail with excellent writing abilities
-Ability to work well with people in all aspects of coaching/mentorship
-Must be able to communicate technical details in a clear and understandable manner
-Excellent problem solving skills and keen ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
-Retain ownership of escalated issues and work to resolution
