A Network Security Sr. Analyst works directly with global client base from Dell SecureWorks security operations centre answering inbound phone calls and client emails. A Sr. Analyst prepares and implements changes on network security devices such as Firewalls, Intrusion Detection Systems, and other Unix/Linux based platforms. This position provides intermediate to advanced level troubleshooting support to our customer base for devices managed and monitored by Dell SecureWorks. Applicants must possess attention to detail, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills and great customer service abilities.

Responsibilities:
Interpret and implement intermediate to advanced device configuration changes and work with clients to troubleshoot network and security related issues
Meet service level agreements related to device change processing
Remotely access and manage devices at thousands of global customer locations
Typically work within a security operations environment which will typically include working one weekend day (Shifts are typically Sun-Thurs or Tues-Sat)
Answer inbound calls and emails from technical clients (Network Administrators/Application Owners), authenticate callers, create tickets for all work, and address a client request or issue
Support activating new client accounts through the provisioning/installation of firewalls depending on your platform expertise
Handle escalations from first level technicians and provide basic mentoring to newer employees
Manage or directly work on projects, assignments, or initiatives assigned by management
Participate in regular classroom, small group, or one on one training related to technologies and platforms supported by Dell SecureWorks or specific operational process and procedure
Qualifications
Hands on experience with one or more of the following firewall platforms or technologies:
SonicWall, Check Point, Cisco ASA/PIX and Juniper/NetScreen
Essential:

Fundamental understanding of basic network principles related to TCP/IP
Articulate with good writing abilities and, possessing an eye for attention to detail
Ability to communicate technical details in a clear, understandable manner
Excellent problem solving skills and keen ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
Technical aptitude and interest related to networking, Internet, and computer technologies
Desirable
One or more vendor certifications for enterprise level security platforms such as CCSA, CCSE, CCSP, JNCIA, JNCIE, GCFW, CCNA
Non-vendor specific certifications such as Linux+, Security+, CISSP, Network+ or SANS/GIAC Certifications (GCFW, GCIA, and GCIH)
Intermediate to advanced level of Linux experience including system administration and CLI
Intermediate level of networking expertise and understanding of advanced routing principles, networking fundamentals, and well known protocols/services including GRE, BGP, and OSPF, ARP/NAT, and command line interfaces
Ability to read and interpret network diagrams such as Microsoft Visio
