We have an excellent opportunity for a Network Support Technician in St. Louis, MO to provide value to our largest and longest serving Healthcare client in our Services’ business unit. You will work with a fast-paced global leader in IT and have the ability to learn from the best and brightest in the industry.
 
Role Responsibilities:
-Perform routing/switching configurations on Cisco equipment
-Deploying and maintaining Microsoft Operating systems on a VMware platform
-Document all changes, upgrades, maintenance, procedures
-Diagnose and repair problems, investigate system errors, and ensure user accessibility
-Perform hardware and software maintenance and upgrades
-Install and configure network equipment in datacenter, closets, and remote locations
-Work with the Telecommunications group as necessary to troubleshoot network connectivity issues
-Completes essential functions related to network and data security including  data backups, virus protection and intrusion detection
-Work with vendors to troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment and circuits across all campus locations
-Support call rotation 24 x 7 for production issues


Requirements:
-6+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
-Knowledge of deploying and maintaining Microsoft Operating systems
-Experience with Cisco routers and switches
-Maintains and improves all written technical documentation related to the infrastructure, servers, software and all other applicable systems
-Deploys and maintains both physical and virtual servers and their operating systems
-Knowledge of networking-specific technologies such as IP Addressing, NAT, DNS, DHCP, network topologies, VLAN configuration, Remote Access technologies, and routing protocols
-Ability to utilize log files to help troubleshoot server and network issues
-Travel within the St Louis area to maintain hardware and systems
-Support call rotation 24 x 7 for production issues
-Undergraduate degree and 2-4 years relevant experience or Graduate degree and 0-2 years relevant experience
 
Preferences:
-Experience with data security audits and processes
-Certifications from Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA or related technology vendors
-Experience Identifying, diagnosing, and resolving problems affecting wired and wireless network performance
-Understanding of switching protocols, VTP, Spanning Tree, Port Security, QoS
-Experience with network traffic analysis and protocol analyzers (Wire Shark, Network General Sniffer, tcpdump, etc.)
