Megha S. | Manager, Service Delivery | Bangalore, India

What has my journey at Dell Technologies looked like?

I started my career in April 2012 with the GSAP program. I was part of the customer support team working as a Technical Support Engineer.

My journey has been a process of consistent learning and fostering meaningful connections. Since joining Dell Technologies, I've held positions as a TSE1, TSE2, Service Delivery Engineer, and even a manager. My time in customer support gave me a strong technical foundation and excellent customer management skills. Also, I gained meaningful relationships with mentors and colleagues who have been a constant source of support.

In 2016, I decided to diversify my portfolio and move to Managed Services as a L2 Engineer. During my time here, I eventually managed my own small team. My journey at Dell Technologies consisted of a variety of teams and managers, which helped build my knowledge of the entire company and how we operate. Since my early years at Dell Technologies, I’ve always been involved in diversity and inclusion work and other employee satisfaction programs. I had the opportunity to lead various cultural committees and eventually joined PRIDE India’s core team.

As my time at Dell progressed, I became more aware of the qualities I possessed that were ideal for a leadership position. My manager helped me notice my natural skillset and nominated me for a mentorship program. After a few meetings and training sessions, I landed in my current role.

What keeps me at Dell Technologies?

The culture, the environment, and the people that I work with are a few reasons that keep me at Dell. I love the supportive leadership, and the diverse and vibrant workplace allows great learning opportunities and exposure to multiple perspectives. I cherish every moment and every day working at Dell, and I have met some of the best people here who have been a part of my journey every step of the way. The fact that the organization trusts and values your input while also recognizing your efforts is what keeps me motivated at Dell Technologies.

What are some things or people who contributed to my growth?

After graduating college a decade ago, I felt that the learning curriculum in the GSAP program gave me a solid technical foundation to start off my career.

I have also immensely benefited from various other trainings and workshops, the most recent being the Foundations of Leadership program. My managers have been so supportive through all my role transitions, and they have been helping me build my goals and map out a plan to achieve them.

Additionally, the regular feedback from coaches during my early days about customer handling is among my most useful lessons to date. I was particularly inspired by the leadership of my first manager, who eventually became my mentor. His leadership style always instilled in me a people-centric, approachable philosophy of leadership and was one of the reasons for me to aspire for a leadership position.

What was the mentorship program that helped me in my growth and development?

I attended the DTMS flagship mentorship program managed by DAWN (Diversity and Women Network). This 6-month-long program helped me gain an understanding of the people management and business side of Dell Technologies, which prepared me for my leadership journey.
