For more than 15 years, Dell Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Solutions has helped customers in several key vertical markets accelerate time to market with their intellectual property (IP) with customizable Tier-1 OEM technologies developed by our dedicated team of experts.
This is a software engineering position within Dell’s OEM Product Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering both products tailored to the needs of individual customers as well as broader roadmap products that appeal to multiple OEM customers. This role will collaborate with colleagues, customers, and sales organizations to deliver products to position Dell as a leader in this space. The OEM Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.
We're looking for an expert in VMware ESXi and related products (vSAN, Pulse, NSX, etc.) to help build solutions based on Dell PowerEdge Servers and other Dell products.
The position requires deep knowledge of industry trends, VMware feature/functionality, future technology direction and the ability to apply these trends to design and build solutions incorporating software and hardware to deliver particular price/performance categories. Analyzing/debugging issues, communicating, giving presentations, setting goals and guidelines for future program development, and mentoring are all functions of this role.
oEffectively representing Dell technical needs/requirements to appropriate vendor contacts.
oBuilding/maintaining effective communication links with key Dell EMC and software partner personnel.
o Developing differentiated, integration solution themes.
oHelping define combined solution strategies, feature requests, development projects, and behavioral specifications.
oLeading/executing proof of concept activities.
oProduce technical whitepapers and participates in direct customer interactions/presentations.
oBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant course of study.
o5 years of broad software development experience.
oStrong communication skills with the ability to adapt technical discussions to your audience.
oCandidate should have deep knowledge in one or more of the following areas - VMware technologies, Operating Systems, Storage technologies.
oStrong understanding of computer server hardware, virtualization and Internet technologies.
oSelf-starter; able to work effectively as a global team member; comfortable with occasional ambiguity.
o Ability to script.
- Experience working with VMWare products and personnel directly in technical areas including hypervisor, drivers, management interfaces/processes, etc.
- Experience in developing enterprise solution offerings (hardware/software components, performance estimation/measurement, etc.)
- Enterprise Server/IT company Industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with enterprise server, storage, networking technologies.
- Familiarity with relevant/useful industry solution performance benchmarking and capacity planning standards and tools.
- Working knowledge of IoT platforms and technologies.
