Principal Systems Development Engineer

We design and develop electronic and electro-mechanical or systems-orientated products, conduct feasibility studies on engineering proposals and prepare installation, operation and maintenance specifications and instructions. What you’ll achieve
As a Principal Systems Development Engineer, you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyses of existing systems.
You will:

  • Collaborate with a team of cross-functional engineers to deliver cutting edge telco server products

  • Work with Architects to finalize product features at concept stage.

  • Deliver assigned system interfaces with design and process across extended teams and deliver necessary output at each development phase.

  • Work with marketing team on product requirements, review with ODM and extended teams to deliver on those requirements.

  • Work with the design team to keep costs to a minimum while delivering necessary requirements and a achieving Dell quality standards.

  • Work with both Dell engineering teams as well as our partner ODMs to solve difficult problems and triage/fix issues through deep dives and root cause analysis process.

  • Guides other team members to complete performance testing

  • Work with teams to pass NEBS (Network Equipment Building Systems) and MIL (MIL_TD-810) spec testing on servers

Essential Requirements
• 8 to 12 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a master’s degree

• Advanced understanding of appropriate system architectures, PCB Design, PCB Layout
• Deep knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues Hardware Debugging

NEBS is a plus

Telco is a plus

Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup

  • Capability to influence others to achieve results

  • Be highly motivated and display an ability to work well on own initiative as well as in a team environment

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Familiar with telecommunications System Hardware

  • Strong understanding of the business environment
