As Systems Quality Engineer for Online Services you will be responsible for process & quality engineering support, for the eServices Online product teams working within the IT development, test & integration process.  With 350 million visits per year to Dell.com/support, your contributions will be a key driver of the online experience.  You will be working closely with our Business Representatives, Product Development and Operational Teams to facilitate improvements within the Online experience, by applying core engineering disciplines of Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control coupled with the 6 sigma Lean process and continuous improvement methodologies.

In this role, you will develop and present monthly status reports with quarterly and annual rolls ups identifying areas of improvement and items that impact the process compliance, capability and strategy alignment across transformational and operational programs.  A basis for this role is a validated understanding of Quality Process Analysis, Reliability, and Software Quality Engineering.  Success in this role is the success of our Customers, Employees, Partners, and Shareholders. 

Additionally, you will be responsible for Service Online Quality Review for the business within the Services Governance council(s):

  • Utilizing Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) provide a monthly Quality review (with roll-ups) of the Digital Measurement System (DMS) of Actions, Owners, Dates, and Outcomes with trends, historical, and future trends; Master and Use our proprietary tools to monitor performance & alignment to Digital Tenets, and report out

- Provide weekly updates on Services Governance Council(s) Activities

- Ensure alignment to Digital Tenets and Governance process for change management

- Identify and relate items to Leadership that are relevant to Services Online

- Relate Quality discoveries and actions to pan-Services business KPI’s (variation, system gaps / non congruences for changes to the online site related to process and result measures  / KPI’s (Csat, efficiency, capability))

  • Develop strong knowledge and understanding of our Services business and content and knowledge systems

Essential Requirements

  • 8+ years of related professional experience plus a Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent combination of education and related experience; Experience to include:

  • First-hand experience using Quality tools, data, and processes to influence design outcomes and improvements; “Tools of Quality” – Process capability, reliability, measurement analysis, variation & waste, data & analytics, including understanding of Quality Process Analysis, Reliability, and Software Quality Engineering

  • Scientific problem solving / Closed Loop Corrective Action (CLCA) experience

  • Reporting and Communicating Quality Engineering to Business Operations and Executives, including excellent communication skills verbally, in writing and in presentations, and including Demonstrated Personal Accountability and Action Orientation (pushing for solutions vs admiring the problem)

  • Experience understanding business Repositories of content and taxonomy / ontology, Systems and their architecture, and Technology Capabilities

Desired Requirements:

  • BS Engineering (Process, Industrial, or Quality) preferred, with a background and presentation of Process and Quality Improvement

  • Certification in the Quality field for Process, Software, or Reliability Engineer through a known Society or Association (ASQ, Six Sigma Lean for software development stack, etc.)
