Senior/Technical Account Manager – Virtual Cloud Network

As one of our Technical Account Manager - Virtual Cloud Network or Senior Technical Account Manager (VCN TAM), you will be responsible for building and maintaining post-sales relationships with VMware's largest and most complex customers. These customers are typically DAX 30 accounts adopting VMware virtualization software across their datacenters. You are the customer's single point of contact into all of VMware. As such, your technical abilities are critical in identifying solutions, troubleshooting issues, and answering technical questions with a special focus on network virtualization and security

- Manage cross-functional VMware project teams, which could consist of VMware consultants, engineers, marketing, sales, support staff
- Design and develop innovative solutions to customer requirements using our network virtualization,
- Function as a front-line technical resource for "best practice" and informal customer questions

- Travel is required up to 50 percent of the time

The role and responsibilities may change and develop over time along with the company's rapid growth.

Required Skills
- Proven strong networking experience as well as knowledge of VMware
- Solid technical background in advanced networking and security (preferably with technical certifications). Additionally, a background in data center infrastructure, operating systems, desktop deployments, system administration and/or technical architecture is preferred.

- Demonstrated ability in customer-facing positions, preferably as a professional services role, pan-EMEA and Germany-based

- Fluent in English, Fluent in German

Desired Skills
- Knowledge of VMware virtualization, networking and security products, solutions, and services is preferred
- Network Security Tools and Networking Concepts such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Security/Trust Zones.

- Working experience with virtual networking components such as VSG, Nexus 1000V, and vDS Networking protocols such as BGP & OSPF VLANs, VPN, Unicast vs Multicast, Management Networks, IP subnetting, and network design.
- Demonstrable experience and deep knowledge of the networking technologies and vendors such as Cisco, F5, Riverbed, Force10, Vyatta/Brocade, A10 Networks, Arista, Infoblox, Palo Alto Networks
- Provide project leadership for the customer's major VMware initiatives (This would include project management and solutions consulting)

- Strong analytical skills regarding technical and project management issues
- Demonstrated ability in customer-facing positions, preferably as a professional services role, pan-EMEA and Germany-based
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills, including ability to interact and communicate with CxO level personnel
