Job Title: Advisor, Service Delivery (OS : Linux L2)Job Description:The Infra Advisor, Service Delivery will be responsible for providing the primary management, administration, support, and ongoing maintenance of customer Infrastructure Platforms within a 24x7x365 environment and data Center environment. This role must be able to understand, execute, and document moderate to complex operational tasks and work requests that are assigned and have experience in moderate to complex research and fact finding using various tools and informational sources.The role will be expected to work in a positive and collaborative fashion with fellow team members, senior engineering/architect staff, vendors, and customers. The Infra Delivery Specialist will assist with process maturation, development, technical standards creation, and drive operational excellence through consistent delivery and best practices. This role will also include the core fundamentals of day-to-day operations, based off the ITIL v3 methodology.�Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Technology Background: Linux/Windows/Vmware Must have experience supporting and maintaining Cent OS ,SUSE 9/10/11 and Red Hat 5/6/7 on HP/Dell/Cisco Intel hardwareMust have experience in Host / SAN connectivity, Veritas FS, VM Good to have experience in Oracle RAC prerequisite technologies (OCFS), VMWare, Firmware/BIOS for SUN, HP, UCS and Dell Intel Platforms.Ability to manage multiple projects, assignments or work load effectively.� Ability to work with Business Unit customers, technical and non-technical.The ability to know when to escalate a problem to ensure issues resolve in a timely manner.Good verbal and written communication skills as most of the communication are with US counterparts through emails and phone conversations.Should be detail oriented, able to do multitasking.Demonstrate ability to learn the business quickly.Self-starter and Team playerStrong interpersonal and customer service skills (CRITICAL)Technical documentation and writing skillsVendor Relationship Management Preferred Skills �Critical Competencies for this Role Skills:6 to 8 years of Linux system administration experience with relevant certification.Strong understanding of I.T. infrastructure and cloud environment In-depth knowledge of various flavours of UNIX operating systems (Red Hat Linux ~80% & VMware ~20%)In-depth Knowledge of Logical Volume ManagerIn-depth knowledge of scripting languages (Perl, Shell) and methodologyKnowledge of VMWare platformTeam player, positive attitude, good communicator, friendly personality able to work in a multicultural environmentAble to work individually, organize and manage own tasksKnowledge of Automation tool like Ansible/Puppet/Chef� Knowledge of patching and vulnerability management.� Strong technical experience with industry standard x86_X64 server hardwareExcellent customer service skills with strong focus on customer satisfactionStrong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on quick problem resolution��PreferredVMware Certified Professional (VCP) preferredITIL v3 Foundation preferredRedhat Certified Engineer (RHCE) Critical Hiring CriteriaAbility to work in a team environment.Proficiency in hardware, software and/or operating systems environments.Strong technical aptitude.Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter.Customer Service skill.Problem solving skills.Organizational skills.
