High volume metrics, configurations, events and logs provide a rich data set for learning behavioral pattern across compute, storage, networks and applications. Your roles and responsibilities:
Your goal is tolead a team of engineers todesign, build and productionize platform/workflowcomponents for our machine learning/analytics initiatives. In general, you will need to:
Work with machine learning teams to understandproblem space and scope. Understand solutions, techniques and algorithms proposed by the research team.
Lead your team through various delivery phases of design, implementation,deployment andoperational aspects of multiple complex services
Provide technical leadership in the form of design reviews, riskidentificationand mitigation, technical mentorship andguidance.
Define strategic roadmap a few quarters out. Run the day to day operations of multiple teams
Acquire, motivate, reward and retain topindustrytalent
Work across cross-functional and cross-geo boundaries to ensure alignment and sanity.
Minimum10years of hands-on software development experience. Minimum 3 of those in a management role.
Demonstrable experienceleading scalable and highly available distributed systems
Experienceleading SaaS services
Provenstrategicand tactical leadership as thesituationsdemands
Familiaritywith Agilemethodologiesand running multiple scrum teams
Strong sense of ownership and a ‘buck stops here’ mentality
Prior experience working in geographically dispersed teams
Strong verbal and written communication
Ability and willingness to participate in on-duty rotations and 2nd tier product support
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
12+ years of experience, 5+ in a management role
Experience managing multiple stakeholders, both upthemanagement chain and crossfunctionally
Customer support and management experience, internal and external, would be big plus
Knowledge or experience with VMware products and technologies is highly desirable
Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
