What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Systems Development Engineer, you’ll be part of the Server Communications Engineering team and work in a dynamic environment with other motivated, talented individuals who are making a positive difference in our industry for Dell. Our unique position as a leading technology provider ensures that you’ll always be challenged in your work and contribute to solutions that help customers transform their business into digital enterprises. Be part of the team that delivers 10, 25, 40, 50 and 100Gbps Ethernet, 16/32/64G Fibre Channel and 100Gbps+ high-performance fabrics to data centers, clusters, and the cloud.
You will:
- Work closely with Technology Partners and relevant component teams to onboard and develop network adapters and debug issues during integration of these devices into Dell Servers.
- Write and execute development plans for the bring-up and unit test of the devices along with the server development activity. Also participate in Partner and Validation test plan feedback.
- Build Software Bundles, create update packages for Dell servers. Post code drops to Agile, troubleshoot build issues and issues.
- Maintain and manage systems as part of the project deliverables.

Essential Requirements
- Experience working with third-party technology partners/vendors/ODMs to develop and onboard Host Bus Adapters, NIC products across geographically dispersed engineering team members
- Ability to characterize and debug complex issues (hardware, firmware, and software domains) to determine root cause that enables component teams/technology partners to provide fix.
- Contribute/provide analysis for the issues/discussions related to system management topics such as NC-SI, UEFI, HIIDUMP, PCIE, PCDM, FRU, VPD, SPDM, MCTP.
- Experience with virtualization using VMware, Hyper-V.
- Experience in I2C, SMBus protocols and bus analyzer tools and the development of drivers and/or firmware for electronics subsystems.
Desirable Requirements
- Good knowledge of hardware and software interactions, and ability to apply this understanding to resolve issues
- Experience with scripting & programming language like Python, or bash, C, C#.
