Boomi is looking for a leader in our Bengaluru office to hire, manage and lead a talented group of software engineers, testers, and first responders responsible for the overall reliability of the cloud services in production, used by over 11,000 customers globally. The person we are seeking has a customer service mentality, and a passion to provide a reliable and available solution to consumers. This is a hands-on role, requiring the manager to actively lead and contribute to the technical solutions and services the team is responsible for.
The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics — all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.
What You Will Do
Lead a team of engineers across production engineering responsibilities that include Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Performance Scalability Reliability (PSR), Engineering Productivity and Quality; working closely with engineering counterparts across geographies i.e. USA and UK.
Incident management for production systems - on-call and alerting - for efficient recovery from production incidents. Engage with other Engineering leaders to implement processes, identify improvements,and drive consistent results.
Working with your SRE and Engineering US counterparts for ongoing training and response readiness efforts e.g. Game Day initiatives.
Working with service teams, build and automate tooling and best practices to observe and manage the Boomi services in production and consistently achieve our market leading SLA.
Measure and analyze reliability metrics e.g. MTTD, MTTR etc, identify trends, and publish results with senior leadership and business stakeholders.
Represent our company culture of transparency, trust, collaboration, and empowerment of the team and individual.
Perform a light amount of HR responsibilities as the first-line manager of individuals.
Requirements for Success
Passionate about SRE, DevOps, Automation and infrastructure platforms.
15+ years’ experience in the software engineering industry, with experience supporting large scale software systems in production. Direct experience with DevSecOps, SRE and tooling on at least one top cloud provider (e.g. AWS) is a strong plus.
Skilled in incident management using follow-the-sun models i.e. supporting customers over shifts to ensure .
Experience providing credible hands-on management to highly qualified engineers.
Must excel with agile and lean development practices, and able to manage multiple priorities and manage time spent in multiple roles.
Great written and verbal communication skills, including one on ones within the team, and asynchronous communication with teams in different geographies e.g. USA and UK.
Bachelor’s level degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Sciences required.
