Lab Engineering Senior Manager

Lab Support Engineering is at the heart of a worldwide lab operations team providing 24x7 lab access, service and solutions support in multiple locations. Independent and flexible, team members are always ready to adapt to the changing daily priorities. They make an impact in all kinds of ways – from installing and maintaining servers and storage equipment within the fast-paced lab computing environment, through to providing top-level technical expertise and support to engineering departmental users. What’s more, they work with engineering teams to create hardware configuration test plans in support of software development.

What you’ll achieve

The Configuration Services lab operations team works with our engineering & product teams to deliver custom deployment solutions for our largest global customers.

As Lab Senior Manager, you will be responsible for daily management of the lab operations, implementation of the global transformation strategies and development of the team.

You will:

  • Deliver lab operational performance to goal (Cycle time, Quality, backlog, overdues, capacity etc.).

  • Ensure inventory integrity of a significant volume of high value product inventory.

  • Implement the global lab virtualization strategy.

  • Develop the skills, talents and procedures of the team to support the transformation strategy.

  • Migrate existing manual processes to integrated end to end automated workflows.

Essential Requirements

  • 9+ years experience in technology product design, development, engineering & manufacturing production industries.

  • 3-5 years leadership experience in an operations management role, demonstrated experience in driving continuous process improvement, 5S, lean manufacturing etc.

  • 3-5 years in a formal people management role, demonstrated experience developing teams to deliver breakthrough performance.

  • 3+ Years experience in transformation leadership role

  • 1+ Year experience managing high value inventory, clear understanding of Inventory control principles, standards and expectations.

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer science / information technology / manufacturing technology or equivalent with 8+ years’ experience.

  • Formal education in transformation leadership
