Business Operations Manager: Tools and Processes

Join us as a Business Operations Manager on our Telco Business Systems product management team in REMOTE USA OR Round Rock, Texas or Santa Clara, CA to do the best work of your career and make a profound social impact.

What you’ll achieve

As a Business Operations Manager in our Telcom solutions and product management organization you will have a deep understanding of how product managers define and bring products to market. You will enable the telco organization to effectively, and efficiently, define and deliver the industry leading solutions for the telecommunications service providers that are on their Journey to 5G. The role encompasses interaction with product managers, engineering leaders, and program management within and beyond the telco organization.

You will:

  • Champion process improvements, best practices and knowledge sharing within the organization as it pertains to commercial offerings

  • Formulate process frameworks, implement and ensure conformance to the organization Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Requirements Management System (RMS).

  • Strategizes, plans, facilitates and conducts audits, analyzes audit findings, suggests actions to improve quality of products and services, and tracks for closure

  • Investigates, recommends, and implements tools to drive for increased efficiency and collaboration of team members within, and beyond, the telco product management organization

  • Liaises with IT, key stakeholders and the business to select and deploy systems

  • Develops, publishes, and delivers awareness and training material for internal team members

  • Analyze business data, providing assessments of trends, and identifying needs of commercial models

  • Work with cross-functional organizations to ensure that processes are aligned with Dell’s business practices

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, MBA preferred; or equivalent work experience

  • 5 years in product management, including a focus on processes and tools

  • Proven ability to understand product value propositions, build out TCO and ROI models, and define commercial offerings for CAPEX, OpEx, and as a Service utility models.

  • Proven ability to influence others while not having direct ownership of those products

  • PMP background and certifications

  • Experience with RMS tools such as Jira, Aha!, and Confluence

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and preferably SAFe certified

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience in the communications service provider marketplace (as either customer or vendor)

  • Proven track record in managing complex matrices

  • Attention to detail balanced with high level process overview/improvements; along with the ability to prioritize as the position will be working across multiple solutions and organizations often with conflicting requirements.
