Telco Commercial Product Manager

What you’ll achieve

As a Commercial Product Manager for our Telco Solutions you will have and develop a deep understanding of the needs of Communications Service Providers (Telcos) from an offer and commercial perspective and drive the direction of how Dell Technologies brings these offerings to market as Telcos are on their Journey to 5G and involved in various stages of implementing the evolution of their core, edge, and RAN network infrastructure. The role encompasses interaction with Telcos as well as Managed Service Providers. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in defining unique commercial models including CAPEX, OpEx, and as a Service utility offers.

You will:

  • Set the direction of and define offer pricing strategies, structures, and models across a portfolio of solutions and products

  • Analyze business data, providing assessments of trends, and identifying needs of commercial models

  • Champion process improvements, best practices and knowledge sharing within the organization as it pertains to commercial offerings

  • Work with the individual solution and product managers to ensure all commercial models are aligned with the products value proposition.

  • Work with cross-functional organizations to ensure that offers are aligned with Dell’s business practices

  • Investigate market opportunities and develop business cases built upon real industry data and customer insight

  • Work with internal and external partners to ensure offers are matched with customer business outcomes

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, MBA preferred; or equivalent work experience

  • 10 years in product management, specifically with a focus that includes the definition of commercial models

  • 5 years of experience in the communications service provider marketplace (as either customer or vendor)

  • Familiarity with existing industry pricing models for RAN, Core, and Edge network infrastructure equipment and solutions

  • Proven ability to understand product value propositions, build out TCO and ROI models, and define commercial offerings for CAPEX, OpEx, and as a Service utility models.

  • Proven ability to influence others while not having direct ownership of those products

  • Relevant understanding of mobile network concepts and architectures

  • Experience and understanding of the growing influence and role that open source (hardware, like OCP and TIP; software, like ONF, Openstack, OSM, Open-O, Kubernetes) plays in solutions and their impact on commercial models.

  • Ability to drive, and articulate product and solution offerings while working with customers and account teams to gather input and capture features

Desirable Requirements

  • Proven track record in managing complex matrices

  • Attention to detail balanced with high level process overview/improvements; along with the ability to prioritize as the position will be working across multiple solutions and organizations often with conflicting requirements. 

  • Proven track record of presenting directly to executive and C-level customers
