Senior Technical Support Engineer

Dell Technologies Networking has been going through dramatic transformations in the last few years.  Dell has evolved far beyond the roots as only a campus LAN switching company to Infrastructure Solution providing company.  With acquisitions from Force10 Networks etc., Dell Technologies now has a comprehensive portfolio for complete Enterprise Infrastructure (Cloud, Datacenter and Edge).  Dell Technologies - Networking LoBis seeking highly technical, qualified candidates for our GlobalNetworking Domain Expert (Escalations) team.  In this role the candidate will support our frontline call agents, onsite deployment engineers, and other escalation resources from our software, storage and server groups.  This role utilizes skills in troubleshooting, design, and project management on a daily basis.  Candidates must be willing to learn emerging technologies such Open Networking Cloud an Open Networking Concepts as we strive to be on the cutting edge of the datacenter.

What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, you will resolve complex technical issues in a fast-paced, customer critical environment, working on improving processes, standards and strategies to perfect our Support Services.
You will:

  • Ability to design, configure, implement, and resolve complex multivendor (Dell, Cisco, Aruba, Extreme, Arista, Huawei, HP, Brocade, and/or Juniper) network solutions for specialized infrastructure systems including Core, Distribution, and Edge Components with consideration for performance, availability, maintenance, and growth 

  • Coach, mentor and provide guidance to Engineers to help them improve their technical skillsand Provide technical assistance to help resolve issues relating to a variety of enterprise technologies including Virtualization, Converged Storage Solutions, Converged Server Solutions, and Database Solutions.

  • Research and reproduce technical issues using enterprise data center lab resources

  • Work with vendors’ engineering groups to provide solutions to complex issues

  • Maintain and acquire advanced networking and enterprise technology certifications

Essential Requirements

  • 5-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience including integrating and troubleshooting a  broad range of technologies including Servers, Storage and Networking in a datacenter environment

  • Proven Mastery installing, configuring and troubleshooting:Enterprise Class Networking hardware and protocols

  • Enterprise Wireless Networking :

    • Packet capture analysis

    • DNOS

    • Aruba OS

    • JUNOS

    • Cisco IOS/NXOS

    • Network Technology -  IPv6, OSPF, BGP, IGMP, PIM, STP/RSTP/MSTP, MPLS, MPBGP, MPLS, VPLS, BGP/MPLS IPVPN, LACP. QOS, SNMP, RADIUS Config, HSRP/VRRP, IPSEC, iSCSI, VOIP, POE, Multicast/Unicast,  etc

  • Knowledge on Cloud Computing Concepts andKnowledge on Open Networking Concepts – Kubernetes, Dockers and Containers 

  • Knowledge on Linux OS and Experience working in highly technical, highly complex enterprise computer environments.

  • Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Additional language require

  • Two or more associate engineering-level certifications, such as:

    • CCNA R&S or DC

    • CCDA

    • JNCIS

    • RHCSA

    • BCNE/BCFE

    • CWNA/ACMA/ACSP/ACCA

    • VCAP

    • MCSA
