The Elevator Pitch: Why will you enjoy this new opportunity?

VMware is going through a business and systems transformation as we pivot our Go-To-Market strategy from Perpetual product offering to SaaS and Subscription model. This role we are hiring will play a key technical leadership role for this transformation, influencing the design and systems architecture in the right direction with ample opportunity to learn and grow. 

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for? 

We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated and with a passion for bringing change to the organization. This individual should have advanced skills with Salesforce flows and business processes, lightning web component, and Apex from a Technology perspective. Additionally, a good understanding of CPQ, Quote to Cash, order management, SaaS business enablement, Subscription lifecycle business models would stand out. Our team is building a home-grown platform to support VMWare commercial strategies. This individual will be part of the core development of that platform to deliver in a fast-paced environment, driving strategies and execution with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, stakeholder management, on-time delivery, efficient task management, working with global teams – India, US locations.

Success in the Role: What are the performance goals over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing? 

  • As an experienced product owner, you will make an impact from your first day on our team. You will contribute to the VMware CPQ system by bringing in your Technical knowledge of Design and system architecture to help delivered and guide the rest of the team.

  • You will help to build a balanced team and promote best practices throughout the organization around Technical documentation. You will use your experience to help shape the way our team works.

  • You will augment your existing skills and experience as you learn the ins and outs of our dynamic environment. Each team member has at least one personal development goal at any time, and continued learning is expected.

  • You will feel the ‘Day one’ feeling throughout your tenure in vmware, given the ongoing learning and growing experience.

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? 

You will play an integral role in the “SaaS and Subscription Commerce Platform” (SSCP) Program. You will be responsible for the enablement of subscription lifecycle commerce on the CPQ platform. The candidate will be leading the Design, architecture, and development to build out the commerce GTM solutions for VMware. 

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

You will be part of the Go-to-market, Customer, and Analytics (GCA) team, Headed by Awinash Sinha, within VMware IT. This role will be reporting to Sujay Nair, Sr. Manager. The team is spread across Palo Alto CA, Austin TX in US and global centers, including Costa Rica and India.
