EMEA Privacy Counsel

What you’ll achieve

We are looking for an experienced EMEA Privacy Counsel to add value to Dell’s global privacy legal team and to be a strategic privacy legal partner to the business and legal departments. You will ensure that Dell operates within the law and provide guidance on privacy matters. This role will directly report to Dell’s Global Privacy Counsel.

You will:

  • Provide strategic privacy legal guidance to Dell’s privacy compliance program team on Privacy-by-Design/Privacy-by-Default legal requirements.

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in the assessment of Dell’s regional privacy regulatory risks and provide advice and recommendations to the business on identified enterprise privacy risks as well as best practice sharing with regional legal teams.

  • Draft and negotiate data privacy/protection provisions in customers and suppliers/vendors/service providers agreements and acts as an escalation point in accordance with Dell’s legal department’s contracts approval matrix policy.

  • Provide meaningful guidance to Government Affairs team to influence and shape new or evolving local privacy laws and regulations.

  • Co-lead privacy regional privacy investigations as privileging attorney and integrate lessons learned back into Dell’s global privacy program.

  • Implement privacy legal and program strategic priorities.

Essential Requirements

  • J.D. degree with admission to at least one state bar

  • 5+ years expertise with privacy laws in EEA Countries and the UK a huge plus

  • Sound technical expertise on privacy regulatory advisory support and incident management

  • Experience providing strategic legal support to ensure privacy regulatory compliance readiness by an organization on emerging privacy laws and regulations

Desirable Requirements

  • European IAPP Privacy Certification

  • IT Sector expertise
