Data Engineer Analyst

Eldorado do Sul, Brazil

Dell’s Commerce Engineering organization is hiring an Analyst to be part of the Digital Data Analytics team focused on the development and optimization of Dell’s Commercial Experience applications. The Team drives analysis to influence the engineering development roadmap and ongoing optimization.  Also includes support of the ongoing run-the-business usage of the applications

Key responsibilities:

 Develop technical tools and programming to cleanse, organize and transform data. And also to maintain, protect and update data structures and integrity on an automated basis;

Working with Data Science Factory team to improve or develop new tools and data capturing methods: boomerang, PCF logs, correlation IDs, defining cubes and requirements, alerts etc.…

You will:

  • Work with data extraction and transformation. Applying loading techniques to tie together large data sets from different sources;
  • Support end to end design, develop and program methods/processes to capture and manage both structured and unstructured data to generate actionable insights, providing solutions;
  • Partner with both internal & external sources to design, build and oversee the deployment and operation of technology architecture, solutions and software;
  • Proactively analyzes and evaluates the business’s databases in order to identify and recommend improvements and optimization;
  • Follow standards for engineering practices, working in an agile team;

Essential requirements:

  • Database development using Hadoop is a must;
  • Experience in Data or BI engineering, dealing with complex data scenarios;
  • Experience in optimizing queries and ETL tasks involving large amounts of data;
  • Self-reliant profile, capable of taking both independent and interdependent tasks working in global teams and with remote leaders and peers;
  • Good communication skills - intermediate English;

Desirable requirements:

  • Knowledge in python script to manipulate and ingest data;
  • Experience with Boomerang application;
  • Knowledge of data governance standards - existing and emerging data science principles, theories and techniques;
  • Analytical and problem solving skills set, with ability to learn and apply new tools & applications;
  • Basics in storytelling with data;
