QA Software Test Engineer

In addition to participating in the review of engineering designs, we assist customers or engineers in gathering and analyzing data.
You will have existing web development skills with some exposure to the HTML5 toolchain, and you’re looking to develop your career via exposure to the latest single page application techniques.
You will be an enthusiast of automation, and have awareness of tools such as Jenkins, or Bamboo. Having experience with test automation tools such as Selenium and Nightwatch puts you at an advantage.

We are looking for a QA Software Test Engineerto join our team in Exeter and play a key role in the evolution of Dell.
-Drives improvements in usability, customer and product metrics to comply with industry standards, such as NPS/NSS, IFIR/FIR, or other standards.
-Drives continuous improvement in the quality of systems, peripherals and software, as experienced by customers.
-Ensures that Dell delivers high quality products to customers.
-Ensures quality goals and performance measurements are met.
-Monitors quality results and identifies exceptions requiring investigation.
-Drives investigation, capture, root cause failure analysis, containment, corrective actions and process improvements to prevent issue recurrence.
-Conducts quality post-mortem and documents lessons learned and recommendations to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
-Drives improvements in Dispatch Rates (Initial Field Incident Rate(IFIR), Field Incident Rate (FIR)), Call Rates (Cost Per Box (CPB)), Warranty Costs and Usability
-Forecasts lifetime failure rates for current and new platforms with 3-year FIR goals
-Maintains appropriate database libraries to support Failure Analysis (F/A) requirements
-Conducts quality post- mortem
-Documents lessons learned and recommendations to prevent recurrence of quality issues
-Basic problem-solving skills
-Basic understanding of technology discipline, such as hardware, software, solutions
-Basic understanding quality tools, data, and processes
-Deals with ambiguous situations within project
-Considers impact on customer when making decisions
