Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?

We are looking for someone who will be responsible for architecting platform specific solutions that will be utilized across the VMware enterprise.  They will need ensure incidents are effectively prioritized and responded to per defined service level agreements.  Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain technology solutions in business terms, build rapport and persuade others are skills to have.  Additionally, improving customer experience and assisting managers, and other senior staff, with analysis of customer request tickets is a requirement for this role.

  • Within the first 30 days of employment, you will be able to understand the VMware IT Infrastructure, standard procedures, and the team’s ongoing projects.

  • Within the first 90 days, provide support for the systems we manage and work with others to architect a solution that updates the Authentication Services

  • Within 180 days of employment, you will be able to collaborate across VMware IT and various business units to lead implementation of best-in-class technological solutions to meet requirements of the Enterprise, while providing excellent colleague experience, and end to end security

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?

Your normal activities may be modified per your professional strengths and the business need and organizational requirements, but you can expect following assignments:

The role requires you to architect a solution that removes the use of passwords in the enterprise and introduce password lease model, need to work on legacy protocol deprecation , Owns and leads discussions with business and technical information technology solution implementations, integration, upgrades, enhancement and conversions and recommend the solutions accordingly. Additionally, design and maintain other services which include on premises AD, Azure AD, Federation services, PKI, KMS and Microsoft identity management

Your knowledge of single sign-on (SSO) authentication protocols, such as SAML, Oauth, and OpenID Connect (OIDC) , and identity and access management (IAM) concepts and principles will facilitate your success in this role. Proficiency in PowerShell and Windows / Linux OS platform, as well experience in security tool like ATP, Splunk will be beneficial.

Document and update product's technical findings preparing for both in-depth and high-level overview presentations
