Role Overview

The Managing Director of Managed Security Services (MSS), APJ reports directly to the US-based SecureWorks Vice President of Global MSS Operations and is responsible for driving the support organizations for managed security consulting business in APJ through the implementation of programs to maximize client satisfaction and the company's revenues. The Director will have lead and manage teams within a wide range of client delivery support including implementations, project management, security operations center (SOC), reporting and product management. The Director will be a strong business leader with experience managing rapidly growing IT service delivery organizations. The Director will have P&L responsibility and authority for the company's delivery organization supporting Managed Security Services within the APJ region. This person will hire and maintain a highly trained staff and will ensure adequate staffing and scheduling for customer projects. This position works closely with Secureworks’ Consulting and MSS services group, finance, sales leaders, marketing managers, business partners and executives to develop plans to meet financial, strategic, and "go to market" objectives.

Role Responsibilities

  • Grow & evolve the Managed Security Services portfolio of services and revenue streams in line with market opportunities
  • Provide business guidance on customer contracts, service level agreements, in-region service descriptions, support methodologies and deliverables for successfully competing in the marketplace. Define end-user customer support experience (web portals, ticketing system integration, reporting etc.)
  • Works closely with leadership to set strategic and tactical goals to ensure sustainable and profitable in-region growth
  • Define the functional, organizational and process models across the organization to enable the successful delivery of Managed Security Services. Oversees the work of APJ MSS client delivery teams directly and through APJ managers
  • Directs the setting of operational objectives, performance standards, and priorities through and with managers regarding capacity planning/skill sets to meet growth targets, effectively scale, and maximize profitability
  • Works closely with strategic partners, internal Secureworks organizations, to develop successful practice area growth and execution
  • Helps sales team retain and grow business of existing accounts involving MSS
  • Helps marketing team develop appropriate marketing materials, content development, and public speaking

Someone successful in this role will possess the following qualities

  • Proven Track record of success developing and growing an IT Managed Services organization
  • Excellent business management and leadership skills with the ability to effectively direct the organization’s practice and operations to maximize revenues, profits, and customer satisfaction
  • Ability to build relationships with and influence management and peers regarding sensitive and complex matters utilizing consultative skills, strong logic and judgment, independent thinking, and a proactive service orientation
  • Ability to recognize gaps in team knowledge and conduct the training to fill them
  • Strong technical background to include networking protocols, social media, analysts’ tools, network and application tools, vulnerability/penetration testing methodologies
  • Strong expertise managing a P&L and strong financial skills in general
  • Superior communications,collaborative, and business writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate in Japanese as well as English
  • Excellent time management, communication,decision-making, presentation, human relations, organization, and problem solving skills

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing teams
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with IT Operations and/or IT Services

Preferred Skills

  • CISSP, CISM, or equivalent certification
  • Experience with Cyber Security Services
  • Experience with Managed Security Services
  • Experience with Call Center Operations
