VMware Global Solutions Consultants (GSC's) work very closely with their Global Accounts sales team, which consists of a Global Accounts Manager (GAM), Inside Sales Rep (ISR) and various downstream teams. The GSC Manager is a high impact, very visible role responsible for ensuring pervasive enterprise adoption of VMware software and solutions through a Consultative Selling Approach by understanding customer business drivers and mapping Vmware solutions to them, and closing enterprise transactions within a small number of globally dominant companies. The role is a pre-sales quota carrying role with high visibility within Vmware internally and the whole Vmware CEMEA marketplace

Key Interfaces are:

  • GAM team CEMEA, CEMEA
  • Manager GAM CEMEA
  • Regional Sales leadership team
  • Regional Sales teams
  • CEMEA SE leadership
  • Regional Directors

Performance Objectives:

  • Coordination of strategic development of resources within the Solution Engineering Team, including approval of training plans, career development planning, conducting regular performance evaluations, coaching/counselling GSC's for their professional growth
  • Review of resource utilization, planning for specialized coverage of all major sales activity areas (Direct, Channel, OEM and Marketing), and review of the resource matching process
  • Recruiting and hiring of GSC's to fill staffing requirements
  • Motivation, development, and retention of all GSC's in region
  • Participation in regular territory reviews with regional sales leadership resulting in a detailed understanding of the top deals in the region
  • Development of long-term coverage plans for the SEMEA region
  • Account management activities may include development of account strategy, high-level presentations, problem resolution, relationship development, and coordination of corporate resource involvement with the top prospects within the region
  • Additional responsibilities include development of relationships with other organizations inside DELL Technologies as well as maintaining current knowledge of both corporate and industry direction

Competencies:

  • Technical sales or consulting skills are essential
  • Relationship building skills – can establish positive internal relationships with colleagues and management peers
  • Proven proficiency as a leader of individual contributors in a professional environment
  • Strong people management skills including: hiring, developing, motivating and retaining technical sales people and an ability to handle any performance shortfall
  • Demonstrates high ethics and integrity – is respected
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills as well as excellent presentation skills
  • Must be fluent in spoken and written English
