Advisor, Product Management, VxRail - Remote, US

Showcasing excellence and innovation at every stage, Product Management is responsible for the cross-functional management of products or solutions through their entire lifecycle. Using a wealth of technical and industry experience, we work across functional areas to implement our products or solutions. We undertake thorough analysis of the markets to ensure we maximize profitability and adjust our product strategies to respond to competition. Our role also involves acting as subject matter experts for internal and external product events or partner meetings.

What you’ll achieve

As a Product Management Advisor, you will identify new growth areas, technologies and emerging product/service opportunities. You will conduct in-depth market analysis to optimize existing products/solutions and build next generation products, partnering closely with the Engineering and Product Management teams to build a product road map and align product strategies for the business.

You will:

  • Drive new VxRail hardware and releases  through the Offer Lifecycle Process (OLP)
  • Work with VxRail Product Managers, Engineering Product Owners, and COC Product Line Managers to identify, prioritize, and rank features for new product releases and updates
  • Write Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and PCRs (Product Change Requests) for new product releases and product updates, respectively
  • Represents Product Management on VxRail Core Teams
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on VxRail Core Teams to collect their requirements and gain approval for PRDs and PCRs

Essential Requirements 

  • A bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical field of study (e.g. engineering, computer science, math, science) or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in Product Management, Pre-sales, Business development or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of VMware virtualization technologies
  • Excellent communication and presentation

Desirable Requirements

  • Understanding of the entire IT stack from applications to storage and end-to-end solutions
  • Experience working with Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI) solutions
