The Network Security Senior Advisor is responsible for the implementation of security devices such as Next Generation firewalls, IDS/IPS’s, Cloud technologies, SIEM as well as the integration of SecureWork’s managed/monitored security services.The engineer should have expert level knowledge of these and other back-end technologies as well as processes and procedures that enable the delivery of our service.They will also work closely with other departments to assist in the development, testing and launch of new service lines.The Sr. Advisorwill also serve as a subject matter expert and make technical recommendations on service/software enhancements that will help drive efficiency in the implementation process.They will also lead the efforts of special projects.

Responsibilities

Discuss technical requirements for contracted services with customers and determine appropriate solution design (placement of security controls and logical flow of security data)
Work with customers to plan out the details and timelines of the implementation
Implement security devices on customer’s network according to their specification and change control windows.
Assist in the creation and maintaining of Provisioning tools and automation scripts
Creation and delivery of provisioning training to peers and SOC personnel
Lead and contribute to projects of varying scales such as upgrades, migrations and new offerings
Mentor new and existing Network Security Advisors and Sr. Analysts and provide training on new service lines as needed
Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles related to the implementation of SecureWork’s managedsecurity services

Preferred Technical Experience

Cisco ASA & FTD, Palo Alto, Checkpoint (IPSO, SPLAT & UTM), Fortinet, SonicWALL, Imperva WAF, F5 WAF, Juniper (Netscreen & SRX), LogLogic, Arcsight, Splunk, McAfee, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, EndPoint Technologies (Carbon Black, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender ATP), Snort, Linux/Unix OS, Mysql, IPSEC/SSL VPN, TCP/IP, Routing, L2/L3 Switching, Syslog, SNMP and API

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Proven ability to architect and deploy network/security solutions
Solid understanding of TCP/IP protocol stack and familiarity of various network protocols
Strong knowledge of security protocols and design concepts
Ability to integrate information security solutions into existing enterprise networks and be able to identify and efficiently troubleshoot complex network issues in enterprise environments
Must have strong knowledge of *nix operating systems​
Must have in-depth knowledge of enterprise level NG firewall and IDS/IPS platforms including Cisco ASA & FTD, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet Juniper, and Cloud Technologies

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Information Security, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
5-7 years experience with 3 of the following firewall platforms: Cisco ASA, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Imperva WAF, or Juniper
5-7 years experience with 3 of the following IDS/IPS platforms:Cisco FTD, Legacy Sourcefire, McAfee
One or more of the following certifications are preferred:CCNP Security,CCSE, PCNSE, GCFW, CISSP
