The global VMware Professional Services team influence the success of each VMware implementation. The Professional Services team is dedicated to the success of the customer and their digital strategy. The Professional Services team ensures that VMware customers are successfully implementing their business plans from adoption all the way to a fully functioning solution.

A new, fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced customer facing Program Manager to join our growing delivery practice.  The Program Manager is responsible for bringing VMware best practices and expertise to enable and accelerate technology-driven business transformation to our clients and partners.  The Program Manager accelerates solution maturity and adoption by maximizing outcomes and business value through seamless integrated services delivery of strategy and technology.

This is a strategic and senior role with a wide span of responsibility and control.  The Program Manager works closely with the sales account team to develop opportunities and architect solutions that provide strategic value and outcomes for Dell Technologies / VMware clients.  The person in this role will lead a portfolio of strategic accounts and high-value transformational programs for one or more Dell Technologies / VMware Accounts.  The Program Manager will be the trusted advisor, advocate, and the primary contact to the most senior level of customer leadership.  The Program Manager is a proven leader with strong client relationship and consulting skills and has a proven successful track record of supporting business development, client-side delivery, staff development and team management.

Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Fully align and collaborate with partner and account teams to develop competitive account positioning, client messaging, and sales plays that effectively promote the advantages of VMware transformational offerings
  • Contribute to Professional Services engagement roadmap that drives long-term successful customer outcomes
  • Ensure statements of work meet client objectives and provide clear and achievable objectives and milestones
  • Build value based relationships with client Executives and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with corporate, geo and regional VMware teams to provide global alignment of account strategy and delivery product issue resolution.  Orchestrate internal VMware teams to increase visibility, collaboration, and alignment with customer needs

Portfolio Management and Leadership

  • Participate in strategic account leadership and drive governance
  • Manage portfolio of business ensuring the successful delivery of expected outcomes with high customer satisfaction
  • Lead and drive escalations and communications, collaborating with internal VMware teams to increase customer satisfaction and adoption of VMware solutions
  • Strategic resource planning
  • Team leadership and mentoring
  • Ability to build hyper-productive teams who are enabled to grow, contribute, and enhance value to our clients and the organization
  • Ensure high quality of the global program (deliverable, deadlines, global CSAT)

Team enablement

  • Collaborate with customer and VMware internal teams on client enablement goals
  • Provide on-going developmental, feedback and mentoring for VMware Professional Services resources involved in the project
  • Collaboration with global teams
  • Actively engage and provide a positive contribution to global initiatives

Requirements

  • 9+ years of project and program management experience preferably in a Professional services team
  • 3 years minimum in a Senior Leadership role with internal and customer executive presentation and collaboration experience preferably as a “C” level executive with organizational and financial ownership
  • Demonstrated success as a Transformational Leader preferably programs involving 3rd party recognition / certification
  • Experience collaborating with Customer “C” level executives, providing communications, reporting, and leading steering committee and governance meetings
  • Experience as Trusted Advisor for clients preferably as a member of their leadership team
  • Consulting experience, preferably with a Systems Integrator or “Big 5” consulting organization or equivalent
  • Experience with large audience and conference presentations
  • Travel – 50% or more may be required
  • Fluent German & English language skills

Certification and Education

  • B.S./B.A./M.S. degree or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • PMI or PRINCE2 certification
  • Demonstrated success as a Transformational Leader preferably programs involving 3rd party recognition / certification

  • Demonstrated experience driving successful customer and provider governance & execution
  • Experience coordinating and ensuring cross organizational customer engagement
  • Knowledge on Account Planning & Account Growth strategies in coordination with Sales teams
  • Accountability for the P&L relative to customer portfolio
  • Driving cross organizational thought leadership and knowledge sharing initiatives
  • Strong organizational, collaboration, communication, interpersonal skills, and work ethic
