From applied research to advanced engineering, Dell’s 5G R&D team is designing and developing ground-breaking products & solutions. You will be involved in assessing the market, developing technology and products and generating intellectual property. Your contributions will drive product architecture and implementation in support of building something from the ground up, all while working with colleagues across the globe to ensure Dell products always lead the way.

We are looking for a 5G Platform Software Developer 2 with a strong background in highly scalable distributed systems with experience working in an agile engineering team and a knack for researching new technologies.

What you’ll achieve:

As a 5G Platform Software Developer 2, you will be part of a cross functional global team of experts to design and build services, tools, and frameworks that are used across DELL 5G RAN SW engineering teams. As part of the team, you will work in collaboration with multiple teams around the world.

You Will:

  • Design, build and maintain a platform with microservice architecture
  • Develop and integrate high quality, reliable and maintainable code as well as debug and run unit tests
  • Work bottom-up from OS, Kernel & Networking all the way to building platform abstraction layers for a cloud native design
  • Be agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we’re doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we’re doing right so we can improve on it

Essential Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in one or more of the following languages: C++, Python, Go and excellent knowledge of Object-oriented programming and Data Structures
  • Knowledge of Linux environment (system libraries, file systems, and client-server protocols, troubleshooting/Debugging, networking) and bash/shell scripting
  • Good Knowledge of Common platform engineering targets for self-service include CI/CD, alerting, and deployment workflows
  • Good knowledge in building platform abstraction for highly available and scalable systems, and cross-platform client and server bindings
  • Knowledge of Container Technologies (Dockers, Kubernetes)

Desirable Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the 5G ORAN, 5GNR technologies and the 3GPP specification
  • Contributions to open-source projects
  • Good Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, sockets, security, and common Internet services/protocols: SNMP, DNS, LDAP, NTP, HTTP)
  • Network application development experience (DPDK Applications, throughput intensive applications)
