The Principal Software Technologist – Host Platform/Orchestration will be a member of a brand new team.  The team will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of a technology new to Dell for addressing the demands of 5G solutions for operators and to help our customers to exploit this significant market evolution.

You will:

  • Develop 5G Solution Platform & Orchestration Software.

  • Participate in creation and review of design document that will drive the implementation of 5G Solution Platform & Orchestration Software & infrastructure

  • Implement and unit test key features, per implementation plans and design documents

  • Work to identify and drive improvements, integration and test automation

  • Work closely with the verification group to ensure the completeness, quality and performance of the implemented functionality

Essential Requirements

  • Solid and extensive experience with Linux Automation and Orchestration (Ansible, Salt, Puppet)

  • Solid and extensive experience with Linux System Administration (RedHat 8, CentOS)

  • Deep Linux network understanding

  • Experience and working knowledge of

    • Kernel network stack (Advanced Routing and Switching knowledge; IPv6 (and dual stack), Bridges, LB, Bonding, Open vSwitch)

    • High speed network applications (eBPF, DPDK, XDP)

    • High performance applications (CPU pinning, NUMA awareness)

    • Scripting skills (Python, Shell)

    • Microservices architecture proficiency (Docker, Podman, containerd, lxc)

Desirable Requirements
• Experience from product development (R&D) preferred.
