Senior 5G DevOps Engineer

From applied research to advanced engineering, Dell’s 5G R&D team is designing and developing ground-breaking products & solutions. You will be involved in assessing the current DevOps tools, technology, infrastructure and provide suggestions to improve. You will contribute in implementing DevOps best practices, process and set governance around it to ensure all teams adhere to them.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with a strong background in highly scalable distributed systems with experience working in an agile engineering team and a knack for researching new technologies.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior 5G DevOps Engineer, you will take part in building one of the cutting-edge technology products within Dell, automating end to end Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). As part of our 5G team, you will work in collaboration with multiple 5G engineering teams around the world. 

You Will:

  • Participate in optimizing of the SDLC; infrastructure provisioning, management, building different Software pipelines, use cutting edge tools within to maintain highest quality of Software.

  • Work closely with cross functional stakeholders to present updates and understand new requirements

  • Assess the existing tools and practices of several software development teams, and analyze the changes and requirements necessary to improve.

  • Provide management, maintenance, monitoring, automation, and infrastructure as code for microservices in an Agile DevOps environment

  • As our platforms continues to modernize, we will rely on your DevOps expertise to guide other team members and build capability within DevOps team.

  • Use your DevOps expertise to guide other team members and build new team capabilities as our platform continues to modernize

Essential Requirements:

  • Provide direction (both technical and people-focused) for the team responsible for seeding and growing DevOps culture in the organization for the key corporate’s software platforms

  • Lead infrastructure and software design, continuous delivery adoption/transformation, Production and Non-Prod support

  • Experience with building and maintaining scalable IaC via Terraform (Kubernetes), along with hands on experience building CI/CD pipelines for mega projects (preferably using Jenkins, GitHub) and experience architecting, deploying, and managing private cloud infrastructure (OpenStack)

  • Advanced Linux knowledge with hands on experience with one or more distros (architecture, troubleshooting, Filesystems, scripting, networking & security) and experience with more than one scripting language knowledge (ex: Bash, Python, Perl, Bash)

  • Familiar with different security static code analysis tools, third party scanners, docker images scanners, security testing/Penetration tests and different monitoring and logging stacks

Desirable Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant hands-on technical experience in DevOps

  • Experience in wireless telecommunications 5G RAN Software Development
