Job Role and Responsibilities:

TheScale-outCloud File System(SCFS)teamwithin VCDRis responsible for buildingascalable, distributed file system inthecloud forour disaster recoverySaaS offering.SCFS enables the efficient storage of backups of the protected virtual machines in cloud storage and allows virtual machines to be recovered very quickly without a time-consuming data rehydrationprocess.TheSCFSteam consistsof some of the best engineers in Silicon Valley andin India.
We arelooking fora senior engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and is an excellent team player. As a member of the team, you will work on various aspects of thecloud filesystem:
You will be responsible forthedesign,development, testing, delivery,and support oftheScale-outCloudFile Systemfor VMware Cloud Disaster Recovery.
You will engage with various teamswithin VMware to collect requirementsfor new features,anddesign and develop them.
You will work closely with the VMware Cloud team to integrate newfeatures and capabilities.
You will participate in design and code reviewsacrosstheteam.
BS or higher in Computer Science with8+ years of industry experience; MS or PhD are abonus
Highly proficient inC/C++
Strong foundational knowledge in data structures,algorithmsandproblem solvingskills
Proficient with multi-threaded programming, synchronization
Ability to build features at a rapid pace without compromising product quality
Troubleshootingissues in both production and non-production environments
Communicatingand collaboratingacross all functional teams
Self-motivated, results-oriented, and most importantly a team player
Familiarity with storageand file systemtechnologies
Experiencein SaaS andcloud platforms like AWS/Azure/Google Cloud
Should have knowledge about security aspects incloud
