Overview:

VMWare Telco Cloud products are transforming the Telco industry as it gets ready to ramp on 5G technology. We are looking for an experienced leader to bring our vision to fruition by driving new product introduction by working cross functionally within the Telco Edge Cloud Business Unit (TECBU) and VMware as a whole.

You will work closely with the product managers, product marketing, engineering, partner certification, solution architects, release manager, sales and many other leaders of the TECBU, while also partnering with other organizations within VMware to ensure a smooth rollout of our new products and major releases.

Rolling out a new product / major release requires collaboration between more than 10 functional organization and there is a lot of inter-dependencies between the various functional organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to Product Manager, Engineering lead and other functional leads to help them prepare for the various gates of the NPI Process.
  • Define a baseline for all the deliverables that will be tracked as part of the product / release rollout. This should be done as a team effort by working with various functional and cross-functional leaders.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are completed in a timely manner. Ensure that the functional leader requesting the deliver is satisfied with the quality of the deliverable.
  • Facilitate and drive closure on strategic and cross-functional alignment related topics that might be brought up by stakeholders during the NPI engagement.
  • Document Issues and work with the respective order to help resolve them.
  • Identify Potential Risk impacting the successful rollout of the product / release and implement a risk mitigation plan.
  • Discuss Change request initiated by any stakeholder to the committed scope in the NPI Team meeting. Work with functional team members to complete a detailed impact assessment of the change request. Work with the team to make a decision if the change request should be accepted or reject and implement the actions based on the decision.

Requirements:

  • Deep end-to-end knowledge of all the functional roles and their deliverables required to ensure a smooth and efficient product / release rollout
  • Good understanding of the Telco Cloud 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate ideas and recommendations to all levels within an organization.
  • 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent field required. MS and/or MBA preferred
  • PMI certification is not mandatory but will be considered as added advantage.
