Level 3 Product Support Engineer

What you’ll achieve

We are looking for an additional engineer to join an engineering team responsible for support of the Disk Library for Mainframe (DLm) product family, a mainframe virtual tape product. 

You will:

  • triage escalations from customer support and act as a liaison between the development engineering team and customer service;
  • work with multiple storage technologies using Fibre Channel and NFS, Mainframe clients, internally developed IBM tape emulation software, servers, and networking;
  • also interface with development engineers for issues requiring code changes and bug fixes, participate in documentation reviews and provide technical expertise to sales or field service organizations;
  • work in a geographically distributed team with most team members in timezones nearby.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills with remote teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with and work closely with team members, engineering, and support groups.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivated attitude.
  • Working knowledge of the Linux Operating System.
  • Analytical skills and a proven track record of problem determination.
  • English no lower than Intermediate.

Desirable Requirements

  • Experience with Enterprise level storage such as Data Domain, VNX, Isilon, Vmax/PowerMax; experience with IBM mainframe environments like Z/OS, Z/VM, Z/VSE
  • Knowledge of mainframe tape; working knowledge of computer hardware and BIOS, RAID experience and some experience with C/C++, Perl, Python, Bash
