What you’ll achieve


As a Principal Packaging Designer, you will be responsible for design and implementation of innovative packaging design solutions. You will work with team to deliver a balance of design excellence for Dell hardware products. You will:

  • Participate in planning, researching, concept design, layout and execution of packaging projects, taking into account brand and design guidelines.
  • Ability to design packaging structures with solutions to guide engineers and vendors to deliver high quality of mass production.
  • Collaborates with team members in addition to Industrial Designers, Packaging Engineers and others to understand design requirements.
  • Continually design with innovation and sustainability in mind.

Essential Requirements

  • Submission of portfolio
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required. Illustrator and Photoshop and In-design
  • Candidates should be familiar with rendering, visualization, 2D drawing, image editing.
  • Knowledge of 3D rendering/CAD for structure design and presentation
  • Knowledge of packaging design, printing, materials, and package structure
  • Ability to prepare mockup packaging
  • Typically requires 8+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience


Desirable Requirements

  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities, anticipate demands, communicate status appropriately
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • BS or BA in Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Computer Graphics, 3D Animation/Modeling, Architecture, Fine Arts or Engineering will also be considered.
