Technical Staff Software Engineering DevOps

What you’ll achieve:

As a Technical Staff engineer, you will be responsible for providing DevOps philosophy, culture and transformation in our ISG business unit, specifically focused in on the Telecommunications unit.  We need someone to help drive continuous delivery, deployment within a Telco business.  Working closely with alliance partners, suppliers and our end customers to deliver fully functioning product.   We are looking for someone to be the lead strategist in this space from a DevOps perspective, driving the DevOps culture and philosophy along with workable solutions across and throughout this business line.  We will be looking toward this individual to lead in this space, work fully independently, but collaboratively with the necessary groups in order to accomplish the major goals set forth for this role.

You will:

  • Understands DevOps industry trends and in partnership with senior leadership assists in developing the DevOps strategic direction our CI/CD initiative in the Telco space.
  • Provides a consultative role to company officers, development, marketing, and corporate strategy.
  • Provides organization-wide expertise and leadership in the design of cutting edge principles, theories, concepts, and technologies Integrates research and emerging technologies into company product platforms.
  • Develops affiliations and relationships with academic and industry technical experts. Writes technical papers (e.g., white papers) that clearly articulate industry and company trends in technology and solutions.
  • Oversees the cross-functional implementation, integration and deployment of projects and products of significant size and complexity – typically having company-wide/global impact.

Essential Requirements:

  • Typically requires 15+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 12+ years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8+ years’ experience; or equivalent experience
  • Strong proven DevOps background – preferably someone who has spoken at conferences and has been part of broader industry wide DevOps organizations. Experience in transformation, driving culture and philosophical changes across large organizations. Using measurement for success; has successfully used DORA metrics
  • Enabling engineering teams to be successful using CI/CD and engineering best practices. Strongly technical with deep knowledge of Kubernetes, Containerization, Docker and microservice development. Has been part of an organization with 5K engineers or more driving DevOps transformation
  • Excellent communication, leadership skillsets and emotional intelligence skills
  • Experience with work in a global setting


Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience in CI/CD in a Telco industry or relevant cloud industry
  • Experience with security in an engineering pipeline (DevSecOps)
