Azure Stack Lab Infrastructure Engineer

What you’ll achieve

As a Lab Infrastructure Principal Engineer, you will work within the global Azure Stack product group, where you will own, maintain, and deploy new infrastructure systems to support the development of the solution(s) within the group. The Azure Stack product group works on the cutting edge of Microsoft technologies - you’ll therefore gain skills and knowledge in the latest Microsoft technologies in your day to day activities.

You will:

  • Provide architectural level support for the configuration and maintenance of the engineering lab systems

  • Identifies opportunities for improvements in efficiency and responsiveness, makes recommendations and implements efficiencies as necessary

  • Ensure that the environment(s) are properly monitored and that any problems are rectified

  • Answer technical, product-specific questions regarding current systems, configurations, and microcode revisions

  • Responsible for ensuring proper deployment of new hardware including servers and switches

  • Ensure lab orderliness, maintains accurate hardware inventory records, and publishes best practice procedures for lab operations

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all documented processes and procedures

Essential Requirements

  • Extensive experience (8+ years) working in enterprise environments

  • Ability to design and implement infrastructure solutions

  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, can-do attitude, urgency, and drive

  • Strong technical knowledge of common on-prem Microsoft software, services, and solutions - this includes (but not limited to), Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Hyper-V.

  • Experience with managing, supporting, and patching: Windows Server, Dell EMC PowerEdge, Dell EMC Network Switches, Cisco Switches, Linux, VMware vSphere and VMware vRealize Suite

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting software and hardware (i.e. servers and switches)

  • Experienced with scripting languages, in particular PowerShell, and automation tools

  • 2+ years of direct experience deploying cloud technologies within Azure

  • Knowledge of SSL certificate lifecycle management and/or enterprise PKI solutions

  • Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field 

  • Experience working with Azure Stack HCI solutions

  • Experience working with Agile Scrum methodologies
