Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Revenue Recognition Accountant you will be responsible for Americas Global Revenue Assurance organization to support development and application of consistent revenue recognition rules and document accounting position for DellEMC’s revenue generating activities across varied business models, product lines and distribution channels.

You will:

  • Provide advice and support to DellEMC’s Sales organization on complex accounting issues during contract/deal negotiations in order to ensure deals are structured in accordance with DellEMC’s Revenue Recognition policy and U.S. GAAP to maximize revenue.
  • Responsible for ensuring Revenue transactions are reviewed, documented and accounted for in compliance with DellEMC’s Revenue Recognition Policy, US GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley 404 (SOX).
  • Support Dell EMC’s implementation of new Revenue Recognition guidance – ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts With customers
  • Develop and implement policies and practices in compliance with Corporate, SOX, and US GAAP guidelines.
  • Work with Global Revenue Assurance colleagues located in multiple locations to ensure consistent treatment of Global deals and consistent application of Revenue Recognition guidance and policy.
  • Maintain up to date and thorough knowledge of DellEMC Revenue and underlying U.S. GAAP Accounting rules,
  • Partner with IT to identify gaps and develop and improve reporting and processes to minimize manual workaround

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to identify key risk areas, contemplate alternatives, draw conclusions and recommend and implement changes to mitigate any risk to DellEMC.
  • Ability to mentor and develop staff and, in collaboration with others, to drive sound business decisions.
  • Ability to be a key technical expert and operational resource capable of evaluating business objectives, researching accounting literature to provide the appropriate accounting guidance to corporate groups such as Sales, Legal, Services, Business Operations, Software Licensing, Global Financial Services and Pricing.
  • Excellent computer skills: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point), SAP.

Desirable Requirements

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance preferred
  • 5-7 years in Accounting or Finance at a large and/or high tech company preferred or Public Accounting Firm.
