Product Manager, Multi-cloud Infrastructure Product Management

Product Management is responsible for the cross-functional management of products or solutions through their entire lifecycle. Using a wealth of technical and industry experience, we work across functional areas to implement our products or solutions. Product Managers are advocates for the customer in the organization and will undertake a thorough analysis of the markets to ensure we maximize profitability and adjust our product strategies to respond to competition. Our role also involves acting as subject matter experts for internal and external product events or partner meetings. The Product Manager develops the strategy and definition of the Product and is responsible to rationalizing the market dynamics along with the customer goals to guide engineering and other cross-functional teams to deliver to the customer requirements. The Product Manager works closely with the Marketing team to develop messaging, positioning and competitive analysis to enable sales\partners as well as customers.

What you'll achieve

As a Product Manager, you will help transform the way customers manage their infrastructure in the data centers and at the edge. You will become part of global product management team delivering hybrid and multi-cloud solutions and drive requirements for end point serviceability of the platforms running in customers data centers and edge locations. You will work with our services organization to understand customer and support pain points and drive serviceability requirements in our product portfolio. You will also work with third party vendors to identify use cases and requirements to make our products easily manageable via non Dell interfaces.

You will:

  • Develop overall product vision and strategy taking market trends and customer requirements into consideration.
  • Work with partners to understand their technology ecosystem to drive common product requirements.
  • Oversee market research, monitors competitive activity and identifies customer needs.
  • Work with development teams and product owners on refining the backlog.
  • Manage product portfolio roadmap and works to scope opportunities and obtain appropriate funding for new programs.
  • Lead the communication with all appropriate extended teams and ensures they are informed and in agreement with all activities needed for the product/program/project/solution to succeed.
  • Oversee and drive products/ solutions through the phase release or solutions release process including business case and resource requirements.
  • Experience defining product requirements with customer use cases and coordinating efforts to scope new feature sets

Required Skills

  • 5-8+ years of experience with enterprise-class hardware and software products esp. in servers, external storage, converged or hyper converged space.
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and technical depth in one of key ecosystems such as RedHat OpenShift, VMware Tanzu, Rancher, etc.
  • Technical understanding of the core infrastructure elements and how cloud and IT operations teams manage them throughout their lifecycle.
  • Experience with all phases of product management, product definition, development, and test of software products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to influence other both internally and externally
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; tight deadlines and operating in a very fast paced environment
  • Strong technical acumen with a history of building/delivering enterprise products

Desirable Skills

  • Understanding of Dell's Offer Lifecycle Process for product development.
  • Knowledge of Dell's PowerEdge server, hyper-converged and storage portfolio.
