Location: Remote - US

We lead and deliver the entire lifecycle from product definition and planning through to production and release. We also oversee modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. And to make the whole process run smoothly and seamlessly, we’re experts in project management, from initiation through to delivery, and liaise with other departments on technical matters.

What you’ll achieve

Using a wealth of technical and industry experience, we work across functional areas to launch products. We undertake thorough analysis of the competition and markets to ensure we maximize profitability, exceed customer needs, and enhance our product roadmap to stay ahead of competition. In this role you will lead primary research projects to analyze the competitive landscape, markets, customer needs, future trends, product usage, and make recommendations based on findings to help bring products to market.

At the core of this role is the ability to understand technical and business-level competitive analysis, market trends, and customer insights to turn into high-impact competitive intelligence. The insights developed will help to fuel successful product development, go-to-market, and sales acceleration. To be successful, you will need to be extremely collaborative across our internal and external organization, an effective communicator and presenter, be able to simplify and communicate very complex topics/ideas.


You will:

  • Research and analyze data on market trends, new market opportunities / directions, and competitive moves to inform portfolio strategy

  • Manage internal and external customer research projects, including external research vendor selection, project management, research design and methodology, interpretation of results and communication of findings to product groups and executives 

  • Gather competitive intelligence on key competitors and market areas, using all available internal and external resources

  • Develop detailed competitive views through compilation of data from multiple sources including primary and secondary market research, sales, marketing, and internal / external data sources

  • Extrapolate findings into insights and recommendations for opportunities to improve and differentiate Dell Technologies Services’ offerings by creating compelling market analysis presentations

  • Create competitive assets including blogs, internal communications, and customer facing documents, to articulate our competitive positioning and product strategy

Essential Requirements

  • 12+ years of professional experience in high-tech/technology industry with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8+ years with a Master’s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD

  • 5+years of experience in a dedicated primary research role conducting market and customer research

  • Strong executive presentation skills and track record of telling compelling stories with technical competence

  • Market Intelligence/Consulting driving analysis for Technology Services

  • Candidate should exhibit the ability to quickly absorb and develop domain knowledge in specific hardware and software lines of business (Laptop, Desktop, Server, Storage, as-a-Service, Cloud)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to executive/C-level stakeholders; ability to influence without direct authority



Desirable Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a dedicated secondary research role conducting competitive analysis

  • Experience at a market research agency in the technology space is a plus

  • Previous exposure and good understanding of Technology Services
