The Dell Technologies Professional Services organization is looking for a Global Technical Lead focused on VMware solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with services product management organizations developing comprehensive plans and actions for delivery enablement of service offers and sustaining solutions that are part of the managed and as-a Service delivery models. To develop enablement plans, this individual will work closely with theater-based delivery SMEs and managers to understand specific needs of the delivery stakeholders and capacity. What you’ll achieve:
As a VMware Global Technical Lead you will be responsible for leading the global communities of SMEs​ and being the main POC for enablement of services portfolio by Product, Solution​ and Service.  You will be the technical representative on Services Extended Team for product/service creation. With a good mix of technical skills, understanding of customer desired business outcomes and the VMware solutions which underpin them, you will be acting as a global lead technologist to ensure our services delivery teams have skills in VMware technologies.

You will:

  • Review offer program documents and provide comment

  • Define skills required to implement VMware solutions

  • Working with Dell Education Services, determine training requirements and mode of training delivery​, as well as, lab requirements & capabilities​

  • Enable service delivery plans globally at service launch​

  • Own the Readiness Plan Checklist​ and support of launched offers​

  • Provide direction/awareness to theater-based enablement resources

  • Prepare and deliver executive updates for functional stakeholders on program summaries, status and needs

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience including IT infrastructure architecture with a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and professional experience

  • Broad range of VMware product knowledge, technical architectural design and some hands-on experiences in VMware vSphere, NSX, Cloud management product (e.g. vRA, vCD, vRO, vROps etc.), VMware Cloud on Dell EMC,  VMware Telco solutions, and End User Computing in medium to large environments.

  • Understanding of change management & service management best practices

  • Experience working in a multi-dimensional and matrixed organization

  • Experience supporting global stakeholders


Desirable Requirements

  • Knowledge of public and private cloud architecture and associated technologies (e.g. endpoint security, network security, Cloud security, IAM, etc.)

  • VMware certifications

  • Industry related specialized knowledge and/or additional certifications (e.g.,TOGAF, ITIL Foundation (or Advanced), and COBIT)

  • Superior organizational skills

  • Ability to influence external & internal decision makers and to anticipate challenges and take pro-active action to address

  • Strong documentation and technical writing skills with an ability to create high impact deliverables

  • Adaptable and progressive learner with the ability to communicate complex technical topics to both a technical and non-technical audience

  • An active listener with excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with an ability to utilizes different styles of questioning techniques and manage conflict and objection handling
