Business/Role Summary

This role is a senior technical marketing position in VMware’s Cloud Management Business Unit. This role will be responsible for driving technical customer conversations, enablement, in-product direction. Previous experience with cloud infrastructure platforms and IT operations experience strongly desired.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer for Skyline who is passionate about helping transform the way enterprises build, run and manage modern applications and platforms. Skyline is one of VMware fastest growing cloud services with thousands of customers partners leveraging its proactive intelligence to avoid issues, improve productivity and reduce security risks.

Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Technical Marketing Engineer:

  • You will present technical presentations to the VMware field, customers and partners
  • You will work cross-functionally between the product management, engineering and marketing teams to create technical content for Skyline targeted to customers, sales engineers and partners.
  • You will create technical sales materials and tools such as technical presentations, demo labs, competitive labs, solutions briefs and tutorials.
  • Your work will influence Skyline technical best practices guides, in-product experiences, architectural designs, test plans, integration guides and reference architectures.
  • You will be expected to establish yourself as the Subject Matter Expert in the Skyline supported products and cloud security.
  • You will speak at conferences. industry events and customer/partner webinars.
  • You will also work closely with VMware technology partners in regards to product integration, best practices and solutions.

Desired Experience / Capabilities

  • 8+ years technical product management or technical marketing experience on a complex and technical software project of significant scope.
  • Strong technical knowledge of datacenter infrastructure across compute, network, storage, and management, including both consumption and operations tasks.
  • Strong technical knowledge of vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation, vRealize Operations and VMware Cloud technologies.
  • Strong desire and ability to connect with customers and the field, understand their challenges, and communicate a vision for how Skyline can address those challenges.
  • Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presented content.
  • Strong interpersonal skills dealing with executive leadership, peers, and team members.
  • Experience taking early stage products from concept through early go-to-market.
  • Experience working with and influencing executive leadership.
  • Familiarity with software development and operations practices including development of distributed applications, agile development, and continuous integration/continuous deployment.
