Senior Product Owner

The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Product Owner, you will be responsible for translating business requirement to engineering requirement and leading the development team for design and implementation of the new feature. You will work with core engineering team and product management team closely to build #1 HCI product.


You will:


1.   Be responsible for idea validation to grow market opportunities outside of the current product roadmaps. Translate the business requirement to engineering requirement for a better engineering planning. 

2.     Lead a development team through prototyping of the technology or solution utilizing current and next generation software technologies using an Agile or Lean Agile methodology in a continuous data driven approach. 

3.     Working under minimal direction and exercising considerable latitude, provides technical expertise in developing solutions to complex software engineering problems, which require frequent use of ingenuity and creativity. 

4.     In this role, you will provide guidance to others. You will Interface with senior management to provide and obtain information and to create consensus regarding project direction. 

5.     Collaborate and interact cross-functionally with product development, product engineering, customers, partners, architects, peers across Dell, and senior management. 

6.     Be able to work with a geographically distributed team, with solid written and verbal communication skills. 

7.     Lead change and continuous improvement for this innovation process.

Essential Requirements

Must have, strong technology skills and technical experience (including emerging technologies) such as, Data Center Infrastructure, Cloud Native Software Methodologies, Automation and Lifecycle Management, Public/Hybrid Cloud Architectures and Technologies. 

Must have, strong cloud-based software development methodologies and micro-service based development 

Must have the ability to guide people and projects and foster teamwork and collaboration across groups and organizations. 

Must be, highly collaborative and open; enabling cross-company efforts. 

Must have, strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and an ability to articulate technical vision while understanding business requirements. 

Must be, Self-Motivated, Enthusiastic, Energetic and Passionate about technology and working as a part of a team. 

Must have, experience with Jira, and/or Confluence including Backlog management. Familiarity with the software development life cycle and Agile and/or Lean Agile Development. 

Must have, familiarity with virtualization and container platforms, especially VMWare and Kubernetes 


Desirable Requirements

Nice to have, experience collaborating with customers to understand the problem statement/use cases and mapping them to tangible technical requirements. 

Nice to have, experience working across cross-functional teams – customers, business units, partners, architects, and senior management.    

Nice to have, familiarity with Hyperscale technologies such as AWS, Azure, Google and more. 

Nice to have understanding of either Cloud Foundry or Docker  Nice to have awareness of Message Broker technologies like RabbitMQ or Kafka 

Nice to have understanding of HTML5 and Javascript 

Nice to have, 10+ years in a related role with a Bachelor’s degree, 8+ years in a related role with a Master’s degree, or 7+ years in a related role with a PhD or equivalent experience.
