Dell Technologies APEX Offer Engineering Org(APEXOE) is looking for a Senior engineering manager to build a team of full-stack engineers that will design develop and deploy the next set of offers to customers.

APEX OE team is responsible for all offers delivered through APEX Console. We have already Delivered Offers that provide multi-cloud environments, Private and Hybrid clouds along with Data storage solutions.  Working at the cutting edge We design and develop software for platforms that make it easy to create new offers and give the customer ability to self-manage them or provide with as-a-service model-all with the most advanced technologies, tools, and software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners.

As Senior Manager, Software Engineering you will drive efforts across design, development, validation, and dev-ops teams to accelerate product feature delivery to our customers. You will need to successfully deliver customer-facing functionality for well-defined features in a team environment and are expected to be familiar with state-of-the-art tools and processes and have excellent written and verbal communications skills. We don’t work in silos here—you will understand the customer stories and have the opportunity to question and improve upon them.

What you’ll achieve

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will oversee the delivery of products within budget, schedule and quality guidelines and manage a team responsible for the design, development, testing, integration, maintenance, documentation and support of software. You will interact with project managers, marketing, sales, procurement, quality, legal and end-users to define application requirements and/or selection of partners.

You will:

  • Participate in long-range planning and development of operational goals and engineering specifications
  • Contribute to the modification, development and implementation of company practices and policies that affect subordinate employees
  • Create schedules and work plans that support the APEXOE org Offering Roadmap.
  • Provide innovative solutions to complex problems and communicate progress toward project/program goals
  • Liaise with senior management to report on project and program milestones and to present project needs that support the Dell Telecom Systems Business operational goals.
  • Manage major risks and issues through effective contingency planning and proper escalation.

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to apply software lifecycle and quality assurance methodologies in a cost-effective manner in order to bring high-quality products to market on time and satisfy the most critical product offering needs for our Dell Telecom Systems Business Customers 
  • Capability to write and review requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, tech plans and documentation
  • Deep Knowledge of Agile Software Development Practices, Agile Program Management, and Product Offering Life-Cycle Methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience with leading large Engineering Development team(s), programs kick-off(s), managing development schedules, and driving interlock meetings along with presenting program status to key stakeholders. 
  • Understanding of Hardware, Software, and Solution Technologies leveraged by the cloud organizations
  • Should have hands-on experience in Cloud computing, Kubernetes, and Microservices with a good grasp of Golang, Python, and/or Java. Any experience in Management & Orchestration of compute and network elements would be desirable.

Desirable Requirements

  • 15-20 years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of managerial experience leading highly talented engineering teams
