The Business Operations team is a dynamic team established to support the accurate forecasting of the Modern Applications Platform Business Unit, (“MAPBU”)  business activities.  In addition, the Business Operations team is tasked with continually looking for trends, problem areas or business improvement opportunities and bringing these to the attention of APJ Sales Leadership and MAPBU HQ Operations.  The successful candidate will partner with Sales, Legal, DMT, Finance teams and MAPBU Operations team in Headquarters and peers around the globe to establish best practices aligned with our Corporate and APJ MAPBU initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the APJ Business Manager team across APJ, ensuring the team is appropriately trained, coached and meeting the Sales Teams’ requirements
  • Act as “player” / “coach” undertaking responsibilities below individually, whilst also managing the APJ Business Manager team
  • Management of Forecast “Operating Cadence”
  • ACV, Renewal & Services
  • Pipeline Review
  • De-book process for Services
  • Alignment with Delivery Operations for Services
  • Management of Product and Services attach and other metrics
  • SFDC Maintenance
  • Regular onboarding & local enablement of APJ Sales personnel
  • Liaison with Tools team for Reporting & Dashboarding
  • Account maintenance and allocation
  • Reporting
  • Assist with preparations for Quarterly Business Reviews
  • General Ad-hoc reporting based on observations of the Business gained from daily activities
  • Foster and maintain relationship with MAPBU Headquarters Business Operations leadership to be conduit for new priorities, processes and practices being driven by headquarters as well as providing feedback of priorities, and challenges from within APJ
  • Learn to navigate organizational structure and build relationships of trust with stakeholders.
  • Review & approval of APJ Bookings and Compensation file weekly, including deal assignment
  • Timely review of purchasing paperwork and submission to Order Management for processing.  Responding to OM questions on purchasing paperwork submitted
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of tools required, identify system issues, and raise awareness to solve them.
  • General understanding of products/services, their product family, and bundle components.  Proactively identify inconsistencies in structuring and coach Sales accordingly.
  • Follow internal business processes to solution and seek appropriate guidance/approvals to resolve situations that deviate from standard process or fall-backs.
  • Assistance, from time to time, with other ad-hoc activities which may include:
  • Investigation of Commission queries from Sales personnel and assistance with appropriate escalation
  • Invoicing or AR issues, credit holds
  • PSO allocations & PSO bookings for Software
  • RFQ / RFP responses 
  • Supplier set up

Required Experience:

  • Experience in working in a diverse, multicultural organization
  • Past experience in working in a pan APJ role preferred
  • Negotiator with influencing and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Required Skills:

  • Financial and analytical experience;
  • Past experience in working in a pan APJ role preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Sales Force.com forecasting tool & associated Billing / General ledger platforms
  • Strong experience working with Microsoft Office products (and Google Docs.)

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, Commerce, Finance, Law or related discipline.
  • Asian language capability an advantage
