Technical Lead – EUC Cybersecurity Incident Recovery, Asia Pacific & Japan

The Technical Lead is a senior technical consulting role within Dell’s Cybersecurity Incident Response and Recovery (IRR) practice. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for providing technical governance and leadership of critical IRR engagements. In addition, the Technical Lead will be tasked with developing IRR delivery capability across the region, firstly in Australia then followed closely by expansion across Asia Pacific & Japan (APJC). They will also play a central role in mentoring and training delivery resources and growing the business by driving demand generation through supporting Sales and Customer pre-sales conversations.

 The successful candidate must demonstrate strong leadership capability in the End User Computing field along with broad high-level knowledge across other IT domains including Security, Data Centre Infrastructure, Applications and Productivity Platforms, Collaboration, Storage & Networking.

You will be:

  • IR Recovery Lead
  • Lead the recovery and rebuild efforts in the aftermath of cyberattacks impacting customers.
  • Provide leadership and be the primary point of contact for the Customer and engineers working on the recovery
  • Be the SME in Incident Response
  • Possess a good working knowledge of Cybersecurity Threat Detection, Analysis and Digital Forensics
  • Mentor and train members of the IRR team on how to conduct Incident Response effectively.
  • Review security related events assess their risk and validity based on available network, endpoint, and global threat intelligence information.
  • Coordinate & communicate with Project Management on tasks, status, issues, and escalations
  • Be responsible for the overall security viability, manageability and operational stability of the functions and services being recovered or restored
  • Demand Generation support
    • Be the first point of contact for sales for IRR opportunities
    • Identify potential growth areas, and drive implementation together with the country delivery leaders.
    • Develop and deliver customer presentations to position IRR services in alignment with delivery capability
  • Delivery readiness
    • Work with the global team to make sure APJ is aligned with global direction, at the same time meeting APJ local needs.
    • Look into delivery capability – including internal delivery resources availability, support from the global team and partner landscape.

Job Complexity: 

  • Requires managing the different priorities – IRR technical delivery, program/offer delivery readiness and demand gen support
  • Requires working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Requires working closely with sales and services sales across APJ countries.
  • Requires understanding of the complexity of the APJ sub regions, and able to manage the market & culture differences.
  • Requires working with solutioning team and partners across APJ on programs & changes.
  • Deals with ambiguity
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Dell services & understand how to better position in front of sales & customers,
  • Develops and implements complex programs and initiatives.
  • Requires driving significant changes through influencing peers and their team members. 
  • Step in on key/major project that requires special attention including engagement with customers, sales teams, or extended team members to address concerns or issues arising from delivery.
  • Requires the ability to travel within the APCJ region at short notice for up to a month at a time
  • Requires flexibility in working hours based on the customer needs and coordinating with other internal regional resources

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Detailed knowledge of EUC and Infra architecture
  • Broad knowledge of a range of other IT domains
  • Ability to develop complex Cybersecurity Incident Recovery standards and procedures applicable to complex, global technical requirements
  • Solid knowledge of Incident Response, with developing awareness of Security concepts like Traffic and Malware Analysis, Forensics, and analysis of security and infrastructure logs
  • Strong services and operations background.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • "Can Do" attitude and ability to get in and resolve issues.
  • Experience scoping customer engagements
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills

Experience / qualifications:

The person who fills this role must have the following (or similar) experience –

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience
  • Have experience in dealing with Services Partners across APJ
  • Strong and broad internal Dell network
  • Customer facing experience
  • Detailed technical background in End User Computing technologies
  • Detailed technical background in Infrastructure and common application layer technologies
  • Certifications in Microsoft Client technologies (MCP/MCSE etc)
  • Certifications in Cybersecurity (CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP) is an added advantage
