The Data Governance team within Data Analytics and Automation (DAA) is at the heart of the Dell Technologies’ Global Operations Digital Supply Chain.  We are the exciting team that build single data source of truth for Dell’s supply chain and lead Master Data management, while develop data policies and ensures the necessary data quality to power the supply chain of the future.  We also collaborate with senior business executive and their teams to understand their business requirements and co-design future processes that will enable them to adopt and leverage the digital tools that will increase transparency, automation, and predictive analytics.

What you’ll achieve

As a Global Operations Data Strategy Senior Advisor , you will work closely with business team to understand needs of data consumers to develop and execute domain strategy. In order to do so, you will analyze current business processes, map out the current and future data systems and flows, interview stakeholders in operations, supply chain, finance, etc. to understand key requirements and pain points, develop interim and future state process maps that take into account in-flight data governance and data solution workstreams underway, recommend KPIs and metrics to monitor process effectiveness, and align with business executive to get agreement on the path forward.

You will:

  • Partner with key Global Operation (GO) functions to understand business data needs and set Domain strategy.
  • Develop prioritized set of backlog of data initiatives for Data Governance team to execute
  • Work closely with Domain leads and Data Quality team to manage the data – assess and improve data quality, define definition and data model
  • Collaborate with IT teams to apply Dell’s cutting edge Data infrastructure to one of the world’s most sophisticated supply chain organizations
  • Collaborate with the broader DAA organization to rolling out broad Digital Solution across the enterprise

Essential Requirements

  • Strong problem solving and project management skills as evidenced by leading projects to transform BU or company-wide process and tools spanning across multiple BUs / functions / geography; large programs with multiple projects with multi year roadmap
  • Excellent verbal, written communication as evidenced by experience working with senior leadership of company / BU (senior VP level) frequently; managed / developed communication and training strategy for transformation projects
  • Good understanding of supply chain works in tech industry and planning functions such as forecasting, demand plan, supply plan, forecast accuracy measurement, inventory ageing (excess and obsolete), large order / discreet demand planning etc.
  • Understanding of procurement topics such as clean sheet, design to cost, inventory management (DDI management, inventory targets etc.), scheduling supply from vendors etc. Passionate about process design, change management and transformation across several business units
  • Comprehensive knowledge of how data governance works including master data management, transactional data management, data quality etc; implemented or managed data quality and governance related processes such as reviewing data quality KPIs, root cause and corrective action, leadership update etc.


Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant work experience; 3+ yrs of strategy / consulting experience in major consulting firms or large multinational corporate
  • Led / worked in projects using SQL, data warehouse, data lake, data flow pipelines and familiar with technologies / platforms such as Kafka, spark, Greenplum,  teradata.
