Team Description
The Dell Corporate Strategy team is a specialized group that advises our COO and executive leadership team on driving, assessing and prioritizing the long-term strategic direction and growth for the company across its portfolio of existing and new offerings. The team works directly with the C-level leadership team to drive critical strategic, operational and business development initiatives, as well as shape the overall, long-range strategy for the business.

Focus areas include: 
•  Thought leadership on the future state of the industry (e.g., economics of the edge) and potential impact to Dell’s overall strategy; 
•  Counsel to senior executives on “needle moving” growth drivers, strategic acquisitions and partnerships, portfolio optimization, etc. in pursuit of growth
•  Incubation of select new businesses that will constitute future growth engines for Dell 

This role puts you in the middle of one of the world’s largest companies ($90B+ revenue) in the midst of several of the biggest disruptions the technology industry has ever seen. 

Description of Role
Building on our team’s successes and continued growth, we are currently looking to hire a data visualization professional, who can help us build an interactive platform that can showcase our research and market insights into a highly visually consumable format for executives.

This role is ideal for someone with deep technical and design expertise, who has a wealth of experience with building dashboards.

Our offices are located in Round Rock TX, Palo Alto CA, and Hopkinton MA with support for remote work options. This role is highly visible, offering significant exposure to Dell Technologies Senior Vice Presidents, allowing you to build lasting relationships and deep industry expertise. Our team is also a unique entry point for those who eventually seek opportunities to transition to key management roles within Dell Technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Designs innovative user-interface models that showcase market insights, trends and other analytics
  • Creates user task models, UX architecture, wireframe level design through to prototypes
  • Defines UX vision, visualization strategy, solution innovation, and prototyping
  • Identifies user centered design patterns, establishes scenarios, places designs into user context and creates interactions that align to those requirements
  • Designs rich, visual user-interaction solutions across a range of platforms and mediums
  • Experience with charting libraries
  • Keeps current with the latest in interactive and visual design technologies and investigates new technologies and methods to bring cutting edge functionality for future development

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with significant relevant experience building dashboards, or relevant education in computer science, web design, user interface models, or a related data centric field. Minimum 6+ years experience.
  • Demonstrated deep technical and visualization platform expertise, ability to guide, drive and a desire to work in a project-based environment on strategic issues
  • Fluency in BI tools, Tableau, Power BI, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and at least one backend scripting language such as PHP, ASP, JSP, etc.
  • Exceptional record of professional accomplishment
  • Love building things and are comfortable working with modern development tools and writing code collaboratively (bonus points if you have a software development or DevOps experience)

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep technical and UX Design and implementation expertise; successful candidates will have a wealth of experience with building interactive dashboards for a variety of projects that have different outputs, such that they can efficiently and effectively display in a meaningful format to best uncover critical insights
  • Significant experience applying UX and interactive tools to dashboards and a proven ability to synthesize complex data into easily understandable visual representations
  • Experience working with data pipelines and associated technologies (e.g., ETL, SQL, etc.)
  • Excellent project management skills
