Global Privacy Paralegal

Location:  Remote – United States

What you’ll achieve

As a Global Privacy Paralegal, you will be responsible for providing privacy and data protection support to, and under the direction of, the Global Privacy Legal team. You will provide research, drafting, reviewing, processing, tracking and other assistance for all jurisdictions, as well as assisting with other special projects. You will maintain key documentation of Dell’s compliance with global privacy laws, and provide expertise concerning emerging privacy trends, legislation and other developments. Reporting to Dell’s Senior Managing Director, Global Privacy Counsel, you will infuse Dell’s Privacy by Design approach in daily working practices and assist the Global Privacy Legal Team in ensuring that all documents, related processes and deliverables are in accordance with Dell’s Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy, Procedures and Standards, applicable privacy laws and industry leading frameworks.

You will: 
•    Maintain the Dell Global Privacy Accountability Framework and associated documentation repository, as well as the privacy risks section of the Dell master global risks framework.

•    Track and summarize emerging global privacy-related laws, regulations, decisions, opinions and other regulator guidance, benchmarking same against Dell practices and its Global Privacy Accountability Framework documentation
•    Maintain and coordinate all changes to the Dell Global Privacy Policy and related privacy policies, standards and processes, as well as the Dell public Global Privacy Statements, including supporting activities such as translations, formatting/versioning and coordinating with key stakeholders.
•    Prepare key presentation, reporting or other materials to support the Global Privacy Legal Team.
•    Populate contract, notification or other privacy-related documents as necessary.
•    Conduct preliminary privacy research and analysis to support the Global Privacy Legal Team, under the direction of the corresponding privacy counsel.

Essential Requirements 
•    Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent
•    Paralegal certification or equivalent experience at a law firm or in-house at a multinational corporation
•    Self-motivated, efficient and ability to work independently
•    Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment while organizing and managing multiple responsibilities and projects with competing priorities and deadlines
•    Excellent drafting and communications skills; must be able to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels
•    Expertise with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Archer (preferred)
•    Familiarity with global privacy principles, laws (e.g., GDPR, PIPL, LGPD, CCPA/CPRA), terminology and trends
•    Superior communication and emotional intelligence skills for interactions with internal and external stakeholders across all levels and departmental functions
•    Ability to work with confidential sensitive and restricted information and maintain confidentiality over this information

Desired Requirements 
•    5+ years of experience working on privacy matters either at a law firm or in-house legal department at a multinational corporation
•    IAPP CIPP/US and CIPT certifications are a plus, CIPP/E certification is preferred.
