Role Responsibilities

Dell Technologies is seeking candidates for an M&A accounting role.  Dell Technologies has a strong history of acquisition, divestiture, and subsidiary IPO activities that present the opportunity to develop and expand accounting and finance competencies. 

Desired technical expertise includes purchase and divestiture accounting, deal structure and valuation analysis, and the ability to project manage with strong attention to detail. 

Key leadership qualities include effective partnering across cross-functional teams, effective communication, strong judgment for subjective decisions, the ability to guide and direct others, and displaying optimism.

The ideal candidate should be able to quickly understand Dell Technologies' strategy, specific product and technology strategies and life-cycles, and how acquisition and divestiture targets fit into those strategies.  The candidate should also have both technical and operational accounting expertise and be able to translate business strategy into accounting execution to ensure Dell Technologies' financial statements accurately reflect all M&A activities.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the M&A team as the day-to-day accounting point of contact for strategic activities of the company, including:

  • Purchase accounting activities
  • Valuation analysis and expertise
  • Divestiture or carve-out execution
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to assist wit transition and integration activities from strategic projects
  • Dynamic team member to assist with ad hoc requests and analysis as new projects arise

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of accounting and finance experience

  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred

  • Previous experience in mergers & acquisitions accounting / technical accounting preferred

  • CPA or pursuit of CPA license

  • Effective partnering and communication across cross-functional groups

  • Strong judgment for subjective decisions

  • Vision to self-start and problem solve without significant direction

  • Strong attention to detail
