The Customer Success team within CXS is accountable for the health of our customers and ensure they achieve the best business outcomes with all our solutions as we drive innovation across App Modernization, Cloud, Networking & Security and Digital Workspace

The Customer Success team consists of Success Executives who spearhead our customer engagement and ensure a closed-loop, tightly knit customer journey for our customers under the Success360 offering, and Solution Architects who ensure that our portfolio products are architected into a relevant and complete solution for customers

We have an opening for a Staff Solution Architect to act as the primary technical advisory early on in the customer journey by helping our functional teams understand the customers’ current state, identify gaps and risks, as appropriate, and define a relevant, forward-looking and transformative solution with inputs from the customer and our teams. This role will support our large and growing customer base in EMEA working alongside the Sales Engineers, Professional Services Consultants and TAM in addition to Global Support. The individual will act as a trusted advisor to the customer, be expected to liaise with senior executives and operational tech teams and be an advocate for VMware. This role will report into the Director, Customer Success Architects, EMEA


  • Around 12-15 years of hands-on technical experience and expertise supporting and architecting large enterprise solutions as a solutions architect/consultant
  • Sound and in-depth understanding of multi-cloud operations (AWS, GCP, Azure etc), hyper-converged infrastructure (compute, storage, networking and operations)
  • Experience in troubleshooting and/or cloud/on-prem DC operations
  • Track record of having successfully delivered enterprise solutions (on-prem / cloud)
  • VMware portfolio skills (NSX, vSphere, vSAN, vRealize etc) and certification (VCDX) a big plus


  • Working knowledge of networking, routing, switching and security
  • Exposure to SaaS/subscription models, hybrid cloud migrations and operations
  • European language (Dutch, German, French, Swedish, Spanish) proficiency
  • Good project management experience and skills
