Starting a New Journey with the CST Team:

Soojin Jeon's Career Story

Hello, I am Soojin Jeon from the Customer Support Technician (CST) Korea team. The quote above is from the famous fairy tale, The Wizard of Oz, when the cowardly lion decided to go on a trip with Dorothy and her friends. The cowardly lion wanted to change his timid self, so he undergoes trials and tribulations during his journey to find the Wizard of Oz. By the end of the story, he had grown into the 'brave lion' he always wanted to be. I thought that the story of this 'Cowardly Lion' had a lot in common with me.  After graduating from college, I was able to discover my own journey called ‘Dell Technologies.'

The IT industry was a new world and adventure that I had never encountered before because I didn't have enough IT-related background. At first, I was hesitant to apply Dell Technologies, but an acquaintance that recommended me expressed that Dell Technologies is a company that actively encourages diversity and new challenges. They told me that the company's direction, solid curriculum, programs, and great team atmospheres will give me the best opportunity I've ever seen.

Soojin with colleagues Of course, like every new adventure there were challenges. As a non-major, it was difficult for me to get used to various IT terminology. However, through the FY23 campus recruiting, I am currently creating a 'winning together' day for the CST Korea team. This provides the opportunity for team members who have their own charms and outstanding strengths to share those skills and help their colleagues. In particular, the CST team shares what they are studying through individual presentations every week to naturally build up IT background knowledge.

After joining the team, I was able to easily adapt to the company by learning about the company's culture code for a month. Before starting work with the CST team, I was able to learn the basics of IT through online and offline lectures from professional instructors. Thanks to this support, even non-majors like me or those who have no related work experience can successfully start their first role with Dell. 

Dell Technologies has provided me with a solid foundation and an optimal environment for me grow and gain confidence. It hasn’t even been a year since I started a new journey here, but I am looking forward to my future and career with Dell Technologies.
